He was ALSO in FLASH GORDON as Prince Vultan. He's also quite the colorful character as he's climbed Mt. Everest three times, the last time not reaching the summit as there was another climber in trouble. (Gotta love Wiki)

Sigh of relief, I got my sigpic of Sel's boys back. It felt rather naked.

Look, I'm not on the SL committee, but I do a lot of volunteering and activity coordinating, and I find your comments insulting to the people who are willing to put the time and effort into putting on this convention. If things aren't being done to your liking, I suggest you contact the SL committee and see how you can get involved. Until then, I think we all need to be thanking the dedicated crew who make this convention possible.
I do some volunteer work in my home town. I understand that they have lives outside of the con. I would like to volunteer but I have no way to get there. I totally appreciate the work that goes into Shore Leave. I just hate waiting.

Really, I had no idea about climbing Mt. Everest. On that basis alone I want him to be a SL guest.

He also currently does the voice of Grampy Rabbit on the kids' show Peppa Pig, which I think simultaneously makes both the show and the actor infinitely more awesome.

Always glad to see Sel's boys.

According to Wiki - Brian Blessed has an honorary position as official Shoutsperson of the University of York's Douglas Adams Society,[14] and in 2011 the University's student body voted to name a new study space as the 'Brian Blessed Centre for Quiet Study'.[15]

Isn't that John Rhys-Davies? They do look similar.

It is exactly because Dragon Con is such a large convention, that guests are booked so far in advance. Talk about a HUGE convention! They also get a lot of guest cancellations because of those early bookings. To try and compare D*C with Shore Leave is ridiculous. I'm sure you don't mean to sound self centered, but they can't randomly start announcing guests, just so you know what gifts to make.

I know! I am in patient! I have been attending Shore Leave for years. It has been in the last couple of years that they haven't announced any guest until after the first of the year. I have started making some thing that could be used as a gift to get ahead. So I am sorry if I offended any one about the post. I just have been under a lot of stress. I work in the mall and my mother fell and fractured her shoulder. So everything from cooking, laundry, grocery runs, and cleaning has fallen on my shoulders.

If it's going to be someone worthy of that sort of comment, I want the record to show that I mailed my registration in *before* the deluge that will come after the announcement. (Yes, I was a slacker again about sending in my reg form. It's on it's way now.)

Thank you! She is feeling better. Hopefully the doctor says that she can start using her arm on Wednesday. I just hope that he tells her that.
