Going to start my con fund now! That way I will have plenty of money for the con. August is so far away.
Bringing the thread forward. Happy Thanksgiving to our American SL attendees!

Got my confirmation today! I'm #50
Eagerly awaiting the first guest announcement. It would make a great Christmas gift to know who is going to be at the con.
I watched the Warehouse 13 Christmas episode last night. I spotted a familiar bunny with a red original trek shirt on sitting on the mantel at Leena's Boarding house. That was so cool!
I hope that we get an awesome christmas present from shore leave- the first guest announcement.
You mean this?

Still no guest announced. I hope that they soon get with the program and announce some guests. Maybe they are taking their time because they have until August.
Come on, give them a break. It's over eight months before the convention - Other cons may make announcements way in advance of the convention and then the stars have to cancel as they have a 'real' job. I'm sure whatever/whoever they announce, it will be a fantastic convention as I mainly go there to see my friends.
I do believe that Dragon Con has PAID full time help for their convention. Having met you, I am also quite sure you didn't mean to imply criticism of the unpaid volunteers that run Shore Leave.
I have found Shore Leave to be an extremely professionally run organization, double kudos as they are volunteers!
Let's hear it for the Shore Leave Volunteers!
I appreciate their hard work!!!
Hurrah!
I really have to wonder how much volunteer work you do. This is a huge undertaking, and the people doing the actual work of putting on this convention know what they're doing. Not only that, but many of them work full time jobs in addition to the work they do putting on Shore Leave, some of them have families, they have social lives, and we should be grateful that they're willing to put the time into putting on a great convention, not making huffy comments about how you think they're dawdling.
Look, I'm not on the SL committee, but I do a lot of volunteering and activity coordinating, and I find your comments insulting to the people who are willing to put the time and effort into putting on this convention. If things aren't being done to your liking, I suggest you contact the SL committee and see how you can get involved. Until then, I think we all need to be thanking the dedicated crew who make this convention possible.
