I just read up on some star wars stuff some background of majore events in the galaxy
after the events in the return of the jedi. fighting between the rebel alliance(later formed the new republic) and the empire continues until the empire finally surrender and sign a peace treaty. after this. the empire now reduced in size now hold planets in a few sectors in the outer rim(imperial remnant). the new republic recognized the imperial remnant as equals. both governments later allied and fight against the invading Yuuzhan Vong and towards the end of the war. the new republic reorganized themselves into the galactic federation of free alliances which the imperial remnant was a member but continued to have autonomy in their internal affairs. this allliance between the imperials and the GFFA continues during a conflict where a few star systems joined corellia to rebel against the GFFA. the rebels were defeated by the alliance. the rebels and the imperials and the GFFA held unifications summits at the end of the war started by the rebels.
Secretly sometime after the treaty between the rebel alliance/new republic and the empire. the imperials secret work behind the scenes to restore thier rule over the galaxy. they started a victory without war program to spread thier influence on other planets to gain supporters providing aid and support to planets in need and those affected by Yuuzhan Vong war.
about 100 years after the destruction of the second death star over the moon of endor the Galactic Alliance started a terraforming project to help planets ruined by wars.Yuuzhan Vong technology wss used to improve the relations between the Yuuzhan Vong adn the galaxy citizens. unfortunately a sith lord and his supporters sabotaged the project which caused bony growths on sentients. the galaxy is unaware that the imperial remnant was in leage with the sith who started the problem. the empire used this opportunity to wage war against the GFFA. The GFFA was defeated and surrendered and the galaxy once again under imperial rule with coruscant as the capital The emporer was man whose family name was Fel(Fel dynasty) The galactic allince supportes who did not surrender fomed the galactic allliance remnant which is similar to the rebel alliance before it. the sith lord who started all this overthrew Fel by killing a double who was on the throne and declared himself as emperor in a similar fashion that darth sidious did over a centuey earlier. Fel and his supporters formed the "empire in exile" to fight against this sith lord and his empire. this war had 3 factions. the galactic alliance remnant, empire in exile lead by fell and Darth Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire. The galactic alliance remnant decided to allied with Fel and his supporters to fight and the dark lord and his empire. this war lasted for 8 years. at the end of the war Darth Krayt was killed, Fel was killed at the end of the war after he went to the dark side of the force and a new united galactic government was set up, The Galactic Federation Triumvirate
the new leaders are Admiral Gar Stazi(leader of the galactic alliance) , Empress Marasiah Fel(Fel's Daughter), and Jedi Master K'Kruhk led the new Triumvirate.
