Rush/Chloe Alien Speculation (Contains Spoilers up to Cloverdale)

I've just thought of something interesting. Remember how Rush was held on the alien ship for longer than Chloe? His skin never changed, why would the aliens only do this to Chloe and not Rush?

I have a theory in the works:

Rush's skin was indeed changing but he didn't tell anybody, so he used the chair to cure himself. Considering the amount that Rush lies, he decided to use the chair on Chloe, but edited the program enough so that it didn't kill the alien infection. I'm not sure why he put her in the chair as of yet, but maybe the chair is responsible for why she has become good at mathematics (and not the alien infection) and Rush is just using her so that he doesn't have to do all the work.

Incorporate what into the story? This would be a major twist if Rush got found out, they could be misleading us by not mentioning Rush's plan - if that's what you are referring to.

Maybe they didn't have enough time to implant one into Chloe.

No, I'm saying they did convert him and Rush has found the solution, but is using Chloe's situation to his advantage.

My thoughts exactly. Since the humans have no genetic relation with a race from billions of LY away, the blueberry guys couldn't have created a retrovirus to change a completely unknown race into something their own in what, a couple of hours? On the other hand, they have Rush for a week (apparently the time passed between Justice and Space) and that should be plenty of time to break the DNA code, not to mention their mind reading thing that would of helped A LOT.
As to why they gave the retrovirus only to Chloe and not Rush, I think that Rush was too important to be changed, which is why they attacked Destiny, to kidnapp a random unimportant person, which happened to be Chloe.

True dat... Plus if they did co-opt rush, they would lose to them the MVP on the ship, who could in some way get them on board. If they co-opted both, they would not have anyone able to tinker.. With rush being ok, and chloe turning, they probabily read from rush's mind he would do anything, use anyone to help get the ship unlocked.. ergo the changing of chloe.

I don't think the aliens did anything physically to Rush other than put in a tracking device. In probing his mind, I think they did a lot more, or at least got a lot more out of Rush, including the existence of Chloe and/or giving up Chloe for his own freedom or a return to Destiny. I don't think sitting in the chair did anything to the infection; Rush was lying. I think that, in getting Chloe to sit in the chair, Rush was looking at a way to access the Math Girl part of her brain without the pesky rest of her to contend with. Also, she was turning into Math Girl before she sat in the chair, which is why Rush was going to her with problems in the first place. He just couldn't rely on her to keep quiet about what he was doing forever.
