Is it still safe for SG1 to live outside the base?(S6-S8 Spoiler)

It is nice that SG1 member to have a private home outside of SGC ( except Teal), but is it becoming dangerous for SG1 to live outside the SGC base, considering important SG1 has become and how the earth has change.

Almost every SG1 member got into dangerous situation outside the base, when they become target by their enemy during their private offwork hours.

Billionaire Adrian Conrad kidnaped Sam , his scientist studied her and almost dissect her

Daniel got mind probe in his home by Osirus while he was asleep , It took Daniel a few sleepless night before he figure it out

    S8 Affinity Spoiler
Teal tried to live ouside the base , but got monitor by the Trust ,and got framed for murder

Even an old guy like Kinsey was able to break into Jack's house , luckly Kinsey only wanted to talk. Remember how Maybourne just drop by Jack's homeand eat a few of Jack's BBQ hotdog before Jack discover him
For an Air-force General , should Jack get security escort ,and personal driver like in the movies, and spoiler Jack still doing groceries.

My point is that SG1 has make a lot of enemy on Earth and outside the Earth. With Goa'uld 's new hyperdrive and cloaking system plus spoiler teleport beam, the Goa'uld could harm them if SG1 continue living outside the base without any kind of security protection.
I understand SG1 deserve privacy and R&R time. They want to live like normal people, but they are not exactly normal, not anymore.
They are too important, the world has change. If the pubic know about them, they may never have privacy again outside the base like the celebrities but at least it would put them on spot light 24/7 and nobody would dare to tried anything , except from cazy people and celebrities stalker.

The base is so ugly. It would be depressing being there all day.

Now if it was the vibrant lost city of Atlantis...that's another story.

No, it isn't. They should live in the base, or even at a secret offworld place, as should all critical SGC personnel. They should be free to visit Earth-outside-the-mountain but only at randomised times, and provision should be made for them to leave through a hidden exit.

When we see that happen, it is only a small instance of what goes on in their lives. Most of the time, nothing out of the ordinary happens.

I like the idea of them all living off-world...say Edora perhaps...

If it was me, I'd be happy with being on base ALLLLLL the time.

Yes ok... I'm pathetic and have no life.

I would always be afraid that I was going to miss something new and exciting or another chance to go through the gate. My mind would be so preoccupied with wondering what was going on while I was away, that I might just as well live there or at the Alpha site.

I think Jack could come & live with me - no-one would think of looking in Birmingham!! I wouldn't tell anyone he was there, he could hide in the bedroom...

If SG-1 team members want to live off-base, perhaps they should go to the Beta Site (The Alpha site has been compromised in a previous season). It's relatively secure, and it beats being stuck in a stupid mountain all the time. Or an alternate plan would be to have a list of several "secured" off base locations they can go to, and rotate between those locations (randomly selecting a location, as well as taking randomly selected roads to and from the locations. Routine is your worst enemy when you're being watched by someone who wants you dead.)

During the course of SG-1's history, they manage to get a lot of people mad, both on and off Earth. So it's a safe assumption to say that there are those who would like nothing better than to see SG-1 dead. And don't forget the NID. They're always up to something, and wouldn't miss an opportunity to kidnap an SG-1 member.

Yes, he got an apartment in s8 Affinity. However, after the trouble it caused, he decided at the end of the episode to move back to his on-base quarters.

I agree, it is dangerous, but I think it's even more important to their emotional well-being that all members of the SGC live - really live - in the world that they are risking everything to protect.

Also, I expect that it must be therapeutic for these people, who are constantly challenged to accomplish the impossible, to simply do the grocery shopping, clean the yard, go out dancing, take a walk in the park without their P-90, etc.

A Cherokee elder sitting with his grandchildren told them,
"In every life there is a terrible fight – a fight between two wolves.
One is evil: he is fear, anger, envy, greed, arrogance, self-pity,
resentment, and deceit. The other is good: joy, serenity, humility,
confidence, generosity, truth, gentleness, and compassion."
A child asked, "Grandfather, which wolf will win?"
The elder looked the child in the eye. "The one you feed."

I wouldn't let anyone with knowledge of Atlantis' location outside of the moutain without Secret Service-escort It's easy to grab Carter, O'Neill, Jackson and put a snake in their head.

I'd build an extensive off-world base with the help of the Tok'ra. ship yards, gym, cinemas and other stuff.

With the help of the tok'ra creating the ships would probably be quite easy. (Nanobots)
