STARGATE ROLEPLAY PRODUCTIONS TO PRODUCE AND PUBLISH STARGATE: LEGACY
England — Jan 14th, 2005, Stargate Roleplay Productions announced today that it is to Produce and publish a machinima show based on MGM's popular and perhaps most successfull television series, Stargate SG1
Stargate is one of the world's most popular beloved sci-fi properties, with millions of passionately devoted fans throughout the world. Stargate is only just now getting its own official game.
The show will deliver strong and subtle stories close to those of the show. Legacy however differs from the show in that its to be produced online, filmed online, and distributed online. Using the Quake 3 arena engine, in the popular Star Trek Title ST: Voyager Elite Force, the team at Stargate Roleplay Productions intends to produce a series of episodes set in the Stargate universe, each which would perhaps last from anywhere between 10 minutes, to half an hour long, and perhaps Directors cut editions for Broadband users, lasting perhaps 45 minutes long. the unique setting of "Stargate: Legacy"'s filming means that some of the set construction could be done quicker than in real life, and certainly, new "maps" for the game is needed for the story requirements.
At launch, it is currently thought to take place in the 5th season of SG-1, although this may change throughout production of the first episode. future episodes of Legacy may be produced depending on how popular the first 2 episodes are.
"We're looking toward getting a quality of machinima story telling i have only personally seen in the popular halo-based Red Versus Blue Series, currently in its 3rd year," said Alexander Mcpherson, Producer of Stargate: Legacy
The Series is expected to enter full Production March 2005 at the Earliest and to launch by, June 2005, however this most likely is set to change.
