Indeed...Syfy needs some new blood, in my opinion. Science fiction is dying on a channel that should call it a homeland...

What I don't get is why not just air the pilot and be done with it? Instead they are going to cut it and make it drag for frak knows how long: 5 minutes here, 7 minutes there, no webisode this week cause we're doing a wrestling "dress as your fave scifi character" special... I hate them!

I just watched the trailer...It looks great. What the hell is wrong with SyFy?!
Clearly maximising profits while cutting out as much "ambitious" programming as possible..
No doubt the people who are employed to do this job are sitting on a huge bonus, say 10% of what they save so by cutting programs that syfy'lys has to spend large figures on, creating more advert space etc will no doubt land someone a nice holiday home somewhere..
As much as I'm wondering that a possible high-grade action & spaceship show like B&C looks like, given the latest trailer, will not do for a scifi channel, but I guess it has to be some kind of a business decision.
The channel depends on viewer numbers. If viewers don't appreciate real scifi programing instead of cheap reality tv, the company has to give you, what you want to watch, easy as that.
But aside from that, I'm sorry that people don't want to watch scifi anymore. I'd love to see B&C. Well, I won't.
Nothing but old news in scifi-land.![]()
I like how they had to add that little comment at the end "SyFy Game Changer"...
Guess they'll just stick to "same old".

I was hung up on "new audiences". Huh? Perhaps the "new" audience that is salivating every time they see the Ridley Scott Prometheus trailer? Its not like we aren't out here - in a sizeable chunk. (I watched the Promethus trailer in HD to cheer myself up after this most disappointing news about Blood and Chrome. Sigh.)
Great choice of songs in the trailer - "We are your overlords"... sends a chill!
Having seen the trailer, I'd say it has me intrigued, but the SFX is quite doggy, definitely a step down from the "original" series, presumably due to budget constraints which, incidentally, would fit as a web series which they seem lean on, and I'll be all for it.
"Yo, you wanna join SG-1?"
i'm glad it got canceled. last thing we need is another spin off of something that should be just left alone.
it didn't work with caprica, it wouldn't have worked with this.
better to kill it before it even got on tv.
the only trailer i found had crappy quality, so definitely too soon to judge for mebut the SFX is quite doggy
I just dont understand, was it supposed to be a 90 min pilot followed by future episodes on tv,I understand that it is now not going to be on tv so are they going to take the 90 min pilot Air it on tv with future 5 to 10 min episodes on the web or break up the pilot into smaller episodes on the web???
They'll be airing the Pilot as one of their TV movies, most likely on Saturdays, the original plan was to have it as a full fledged series but plans changed when they decided to outright cancel it without waiting to see how the Pilot did first and are now instead making it a crappy web-series.
Which to be honest is quite common. TV stations order tons of pilots that end just their because the executives didn't like it

There's an ACTUAL SCI-FI show called Defiance coming to SyFy (gasps!) I'll wait for the inevitable 'Blood & Chrome' leaked online news.
Try this one, it's decent quality. Not great but decent:

First let me say that I hate prequels. I already know what happens in the future, I know where the characters end up and more or less how they get there. I don't like the idea of going back and watching sections prior to what I've already seen. As great a character as Adama is, I don't want to see anyone else play him after seeing Olmos. (I'm aware there was another series years ago).
That said, and given the fact that this is put together with CG representations of the BSG set (as we've seen before in shows like Sanctuary, SyFy's version of CG sets look like crap.) coupled with the fact that Caprica the show exists really made me not want B&C to happen even at the pilot stage.
At least with BSG we saw some real sets and some pretty impressive, still noticeable but not bad CG for set extensions. At least with BSG it more or less looked like people were in the environment.
Even further still, what are they selling this series on? Just that trailer filled with single second cuts of action? Come on... I love action packed as much as the next guy but what makes BSG so fantastic is everything else besides the action.
Slight spoiler ish here for BSG:
Spoiler:
Now on to nitpicking, what's with the look of the Cylons here? Do we really need a third different design of the machine? (maybe more if they looked different in Caprica, I've never watched it).
Seems weird that SyFy would pass on this given that everything about it is bad and wrong, and that seems to be SyFy's strong suit. Hmm.
it appears to be a hybrid between the cylon from Caprica (the first one) and the soldier from Razor. that said, it might as well be a helmetless Soldier. Now on to nitpicking, what's with the look of the Cylons here? Do we really need a third different design of the machine? (maybe more if they looked different in Caprica, I've never watched it).
Any word on the airdate for this yet? Still pissed that SyFy passed on this as a series, but want to see the 'Pilot' movie
Still nothing?! C'mon, SyFy grow a frakking spine and air this!
Wasting a wish there chap, SyFy isn't going to air it until the devil is selling popsicles![]()
