Surely anubis is dead? because the only reason the ancients didn't kill him is because he wasn't using his ascended abilities, so as soon as oma attacks him he has to use these, thus meaning the other ascendants would surely whoop his ass??

I have counted at least 15.

Dang. Some body count.
Tell me again why the Tok'ra thought picking off System Lords was a bad idea?![]()
Because each time a system lord is picked off a more warlike one comes up in its place. At least that is the explanation that jacob/selmac (i know i probably messed up that spelling) gave to o'neill (don't even ask me to recall the season/episode because i can't)Originally Posted by gwangung

I reformatted the list. Personally, I don't think how a system lord died is as important as if they're dead or not. I also left out the no-named minor goa'uld and ashrak because they're just Goa'uld fodder; only slightly more status than a Jaffa.
I listed each with which episode they died or apparently died in, so you can look up the details in the omnipedia here at gateworld.
I may have mislabled one or two here, so let me know if you see a mistake.

Jarnin's Law of StarGate:
1. As a StarGate discussion grows longer, the probability of someone mentioning the Furlings approaches one.
there should be another "under lord presumed dead": baal's representative in reckoning
that's the only one i can think of now as being missing![]()
Tilgath, Ramius, and Molloch are not system lords. The first two were called minor goa'uld and the last one was always called "the Goa'uld Molloch". Molloch was powerful but never referred to as a system lord.
Pelops was never called a system lord either, the phrase "system lord" does not make its first appearance until the next episode (Thor's Hammer).
Yeah, but pick 'em off fast enough, and you get massive chaos. AND, by definition, the ones coming up aren't gonna be as competent (cause that's why they're down on the bottom and not a System Lord themselves)...Originally Posted by glnblnd

In my list I didn't count Apophis dieing in season 2 because as most everyone knows he comes back, bigger and badder than ever in season 3. I only count the times that a Goa'uld dies for good.
Although Amonet was the queen of Apophis, when she was killed, a number of jaffa, specifically Horus guards, are with her, which would indicate that she managed to convince jaffa loyal to Heru'ur or possibly leftover jaffa from Hathor or maybe even Ra to serve her, or that she made some sort of pact with Heru'ur. The possibility of a pact with Heru'ur is possible, but not definite, seeing as Horus guards were present.
I would have to agree that Amaterasu may be dead from the replicators, but until I hear confirmed word that she is dead, I will consider her to possibly still be alive. The same goes for Camulus, Zipacna, Kali, Phelops, and Nephertim.
Although it was never mentioned that Moloc was or was not a System Lord, in "Birthright" it was mentioned that he controlled several planets, likely in several different solar systems, and that his armies were vast. In "Sacrifices" it was mentioned that he had a fleet of Ha'taks, which could have been as few as 2 or 3, or a couple dozen or more, and at least one temple. While he may not have been a System Lord, he was apparently not working for any other Goa'uld, and was definitely a powerful Goa'uld.
well remember that it is during "peace talks" between apophis and heru'ur in season 4 (a couple years later) that her'ur is killed... and as i recall, they were supposed to be enemies... i'd say all the horus guards were either guys who switched sides (or taken after some victory... whatever... similar somethingOriginally Posted by SG-4MarineLeader
).... or from hathor as you suggested...
remember also that heru'ur was trying to take the harsesis in the ep he was born in (can't remember the title! grr)... though amounet did lie to apophis about it...
but amounet was still definately apophis' queen, not heru'ur's.... she may have been betraying apophis and helping him, but as far as anything in the show ever says or shows, she's apophis' queen![]()
At the time though Apophis was being tortured by Sokar and By'nar, so Amonet had to either join someone else or build up a force of her own to survive. Maybe she made a deal with Heru'ur, something like give me some troops and weapons and I will bring you the Harceisis child. Of course there is no evidence to support such an alliance even being considered, so it would be pure speculation on the part of the viewers unless information about the event is released in a later episode, or if you consider them canon, a novel or comic book.
On a side note, could someone please tell me which forum would be the best place to discuss Stargate SG-1 books?
hey, you're speaking to the QUEEN here of wild speculationand that IS kinda an interesting theory... hmmm... *looks into those episode further...
*
as for book discussion... prob'ly the OT forum.... or gen. discussion...i dunno... how many books are there anyway??? i've only even seen one at the library or regular book store
