Quite correct. And to me, that presents even more problems.

    Spoiler:
The Reapers are different--at some level they're a synthesis of synthetic and the organic pulp of the races they 'harvest'--but this goes totally unaddressed by ME3's ending. The 'control' ending doesn't even mention it. The 'synthesis' ending appears to suggest that the starchild/Reaper plot is successful (just in a different way), and the 'destroy' ending fails to address it when it's arguably at its most important.

How high-level is the destruction of "synthetics"? Are we talking galaxy-wide EMP to the power of a thousand, setting everyone back to the stone age? And, incidentally, killing or driving all human biotics insane because of the loss of their implants (as well as the presumed deactivation of Shepard's implants)? Or is it all artificial life, including the Reapers, the geth, and perhaps Shepard as well? If so, why does EDI appear in the Normandy/Pandora sequence?

The last game in a trilogy, which was pretty roundly billed as an ending should not have such glaring holes in its narrative. Room for interpretation is one thing, but trolling an entire fanbase with an ending that makes very little sense is quite another.

Which is a load, honestly. The game was billed as answering questions and having a definite ending influenced by the decisions you made over the course of the trilogy. Instead we've been railroaded into a 3-colour ending consisting of 3 choices that don't make a whole lot of sense in context of the series, and are wholly an unfulfilling end to the series. Ending DLC? Ha. Read as: "Ha ha! We got you to pay $60-80 for 95% of a game, but if you want to finish it you'll have to pay us again!" It's a load of crap.

If the content is free I'll happily eat my words, even though there's no reason why there should be a month+ wait after release to get a proper ending. But I just don't see it happening.

Yeah mate....M6P is right. ME and ME-related links here are cool, but stop trying to derail with links for other franchises. That's why there are separate threads =\

I am still in the middle of ME2, but I have heard so many spoilers about ME3.

My question is will the Salarians cure themselves as well? I mean they are the masters of genetics as they created the Genophage for the Krogans then why are they not able to extend their own life cycle (e.g. decrease metabolism)? Are there such events in ME3? I wish it could happen.

Somehow I was disappointed that they live only 40-60 years. Never mind, I was only dreaming because Mordin is my favorite NPC. That singing was priceless.

But yeah, that's their normal lifespan (I think it was even mentioned in ME1). Nothing to cure!

I don't think it's an excuse to make more dlc. Bioware screwed up in one way with ME3, not having a satisfying ending. Thankfully they can fix that.

Every company makes mistakes, gotthammer's precious CD Projekt wouldn't have to release "enhanced editions" of their games, for example, if they didn't release them in such a horrendous broken, buggy mess with terrible difficulty spikes in the first place.

Bioware have said they will fix the problem, I'm happy with the rest of the game, so I'll wait for more info on any dlc before having a go at them anymore. As for the price of the dlc, to play devils adequate for a second, if it actually adds several hours of gameplay, then they will have put a lot of time, effort and money into that, and people don't work for free. Having said that, it would make much more sense from a PR standpoint to release that stuff gratis, though frankly I wonder if Bioware give a rats ass about PR at this point, whatever they do, that rabid "fanbase" will attack them.

Yay, I resolved the Jack/Miranda argument keeping both loyal.
Bought some star maps on Illium yesterday so going to check those out today to see if they uncover any small missions.

Right, I need help with the final mission of ME2.
Ive got up to the part where you choose your team for the final time, and the rest hold off the Collectors.
How do you select your team so the whole team survives? Theres an achievement you get when everyone survives the mission so I know its possible, but I cant work out the combination!
And yes, Ive done all the loyalty missions.
Can anyone help cause I want to transfer this character over to ME3 so I can play with everyone in ME3.

I believe the combination I got to work was..

    - Tali in the vents
    - Garrus leading the first alternate squad
    - Jack as the one holding the bubble
    - Grunt escorting the crew back to the ship
    - Miranda leading the second alternate squad
    - leave some tough guys to defend the door before you head to the human Reaper

Take the nuke heavy weapon to face the Reaper. Once you get to the shooting it in the eyes part, it helps so much. And make sure that NOBODY is incapacitated when a cutscene starts or there's a chance they get counted as dead.

First, you need to have the Shields, Armor, and Weapon upgrades to the Normandy. You lose one person on the way in for each of those you don't have.

Whoever you give any assignment has to be loyal or someone dies (which sounds like it shouldn't be a problem for you.
I wouldn't send Grunt back to the ship, since he's at the top tier when calculating whether anyone dies defending the door. I usually send Mordin back with the crew.

    Vents: Tali, Legion, or Kasumi
Second Squads (both times): Miranda, Jacob, or Garrus
    Bubble: Jack or Samara

EDIT: One more thing. Take less armored characters with you to the Reaper Terminator, since they won't count in the door calculations. I think the lower tier ones who die more easily at the door are Tali, Jack, Mordin, and Kasumi. Definitely leave Grunt, Garrus, and Zaeed behind, since they're the high point ones.

    Thanks for the help.
To be honest, the playthrough after I posted that I did it.
I worked out who died the most at the end and just took them on the final mission.
For me, I did it with Miranda and Mordin.
Now I can do a ME3 playthrough linked to a ME2 character and see everyone in ME3, cause thats one of 2 playthroughs I havent seen yet on ME3.

Now to do ME3 then ME2 in renegade mode, this should be fun!

Wow, my Shepards face is getting really mucked up!, but I cant take a Shepard with red eyes seriously lol.
Its actually quite hard to get a pure renegade ME3 account, keep getting paragon from missions.
I found a way to save
    Spoiler:
Mordin though, trick Wreav into thinking your curing the genophage then I selected the red conversation option in the selection and managed to persuade Mordin to not go through with it and disappear to the Crucible

Of course if you mosy over to the Bioware Social Network they still aren't happy. I really hate this fanbase sometimes.

Free? Wow. Here I am: I eat my words from earlier on this page.

Now let's hope it's an actual ending, and not the 'questions will be answered, stories will be resolved' "ending" that we got the first time around!

I find it's just generally not a good place. Ever. The nonsense over there is comparable with the worst of Steampowered at the height (depths) of the nonsense there.

Well Bioware have said there will be no brand new endings to the game. But they have emphasized more closure and clarity, as well as the endings will now feel more personalized. I imagine they will actually explain what the hell happened at the end of the game, fill in some of the plot holes and probably provide some kind of epilogue to show what happens to all the various characters and races.

How good an ending it will actually be we obviously won't know till its released, but the fact that Bioware have done something, and done it for free shows they do listen.

As for a lot of the people on the Bioware Social Network, for all their talk of "retake Mass Effect!" and "hold the line," I think they are starting to realise that they are group that was united only by dislike of the ending, but when it comes to what they actually want, none of them can agree on anything.
