MSgt. Ronald Greer Discussion/Jamil Walker/Appreciation
Does anyone happen to have better and clearer version of this? Tried to find it via Google, all other cast pictures are available. Only Greer's picture is nowhere to be found.
So what did he have to say about SGU? Any thoughts?
Someone jokingly asked him how he was feeling after the 'kidney transplant operation'. He laughed after thinking about it and said he was 'fine'. Unfortunately he didn't say much about SGU as he appeared in the same panel with JR Bourne and Corin Nemec and was quite interested in finding out what a Tok'ra was when he asked JR what role he played in Stargate.
And props to RC for being one of those ahead of the curve when it comes to realizing how talented Jamil is. Last year someone posted a video of Robert being interviewed by a fan. Robert praised all his co-stars of SGU but went the extra distance to give special mention to Jamil. That was pretty impressive considering the lack of scenes between him and Jamil. If only the people who run the GateWorld podcast was as observant.
Anyway it was a class act for RC to go out of his way to publicly praise Jamil’s film. He is echoing the thoughts of Louie who also raved about it during one of the SGU commentaries. I seriously hope the movie leads to bigger and better things for Jamil.

What he said. I'm very happy to hear that and I hope I'll manage to somehow watch this movie. Go Jamil!
Also, speaking of the podcast, I'm a little behind but recently I've listened to one when somebody called in and told guys off for neglecting to praise Jamil. Believe me, I cheered out loud listening to that!
There's a good chance this opinion is shared by Ashizuri
Yeah, I heard that podcast as well which is why I kind of mentioned the podcasts in the first place.
And then one of the guys hosting the podcast, the one who was so dismissive of "The Hunt" in the first place, had the nerve to say he didn't even think "The Hunt" was a Greer-centric episode! Hello? Greer gets the most screen time and is at the center of the A story. Heck, he was such a big part of the episode that Sy Fy actually had to include him in the previews for the ep. ;D. Anyway the host was wrong about Greer not being the focus but that same guy thought Volker was the focal point of "Hope" when actually Volker less of a role in "Hope" than Greer has in "The Hunt". And I might add this is the same guy that was taken aback by Greer and Park's relationship (hadn't he been paying attention) and thought Volker and Park were just meant to be. Argh. Don't get me started.
The fact is if you listen to the commentaries of the cast members on the DVDs there is an enormous amount of praise thrown Jamil's way even though his character hasn't gotten the screentime of others. But he never could get any love from the hosts of the Gateworld podcasts. I'm glad that caller "called" them out over it.
Greer was, by far, my favorite SGU character, esp after Light. Although I'd lost interest in the show after Malice, I tuned in for the The Hunt when I heard that it was supposed to focus on Greer and TJ (my second favorite character) and wasn't disappointed with their parts in the episode. My main regret of not watching the rest of S2 was missing out on seeing his character's journey.
I'm glad to see JW is keeping busy and hope he sees great success in his career.
