Seeing Jacob die was sad for me. The Jaffa ceremony for Bra'tac and Teal'c was interesting. It made me happy, and so very proud of them. Tolok is such a kind person.

Pete was a good man, and in my opinion, Sam should have married him, or at least delayed the wedding. Poor Pete.

This episode was a great one. I think it was filled with emotion.

I enjoyed this episode, I rewatched on Netflix which only had the standard 1 hour TV version (43 minutes). Need to find the 65+ minute extended version to watch ...

i was really sad that jacob dies, and to me it seems like his death is kind of overlooked. all sam does to grieve is not marry pete.

Why no audio commentary for this ep? Out of all of season 8, this ep is the one I most want to hear an audio commentary for!

Now, I admit, i haven't read through this thread much..... but is it just me or did Bra'tec give Daniel a smirk towards the end of the episode...... one that didn't look so... friendly per se... (or i guess a little TOO friendly) especially when you notice the eyes.......


um... yeah.... opinions anyone? I was disturbed and mildly amused at the same time.

A pretty good conclusion to reckoning.

So the Jaffa are officially free. Well most of them anyway. It was sad to see Jacob die. It was quite sudden so I'm guessing the actor wanted to move on.

The whole thing with the diner, Oma and Anubis was great. The ascended being all stuck up and ignoring Daniel. Discovering that Oma accidentally helped Anubis ascend. And finding out that only other person talking to Daniel was in fact Anubis.

What happens when Anubis is at the diner? Does he not have control over the body he's in while he's at the diner? Or can he be in 2 places at once? I don't understand how it works.

Anubis got what was coming to him and I think that's the end of him now. At least Daniel didn't stay dead for long this time.

Jacob dieing was for the same reason Fraiser died last season. As for Anubis his body probably leaves our plane to visit the ascended plane

Is it only me that finds this episode both good and not good...

It is full of great story threads and great character moments, but they feel just crammed together and rushed. One or two of those threads would have been enough for one episode. Threads like the death of Jacob ends up in the background which is sad. It feels like the authors suddenly decided that all old story arcs should end in this episode.

Perhaps its due to the extensive cutting of the original 90-minutes ep to the standard 40-ish that it feels so rushed, but still a little planning could have strung out the story ends across the season a bit. Speaking of the long version, does anyone know if it is available somewhere?

Sam's grief was not for public display as many people seem to want it to be. I'm sure she did so privately. Throughout the series, she pretty much kept her emotions in check. Crying isn't the only way people grieve over a loss, and it isn't fair to judge someone by how much they "grieve" over a loss.

This was a great and memorable episode of SG-1.

Going into this, I forgot what happened to Anubis.

It's sad Jacob died, I'll miss him. Also, Anubis and Oma might be dead or something

Notes:

• Who remembers the great screw up on the Season 8 DVD with Sony putting the cut-version Threads instead of the proper one. I still have the screwed up one. I guessing this is the reason they never added the commentary to it (I'm certain Andy and Rob recorded one)
• That whole Rebel Jaffa scene at the beginning was great.
• The Sam/Pete relationship is over
• The grin on Bra'tac's face when Daniel came out of Jack's Office was funny.

Unfortunately I have the short version season 8 'Threads' as I thought by buying the season 8 boxset I would get the longer version, then I missed out on getting the disc replaced as you had to send it off if I recall. So I've only ever seen the longer version once. I hoped maybe they had the longer version on Netflix but no luck.

It's always sad watching this epsiode. Jacob dying, Jack and Sam not sorting out things really. Seeing the quick exit of Pete was as quick as his appearance which was a good thing in the end! All a bit weird to me, along with the secret love interest of Jack's we only see for a brief moment and then she's gone too.

The battle in the diner between Oma and Anubis - always good fun to watch, Anubis was having too much fun teasing Daniel and Oma, loved his incarnation as 'Jim'!

Daniel appearing again in Jack's office obviously in his birthday suit and then only the SGC flag allowing him to keep his dignity intact, along with Jack's awkward reaction to it all was hilarious! I loved Bra'tac's reaction, from his smile I reckon this took a few takes with people laughing too much!

At least the other Ancients interfered to the extent of giving Daniel back his mortal existence rather than letting him die after Oma got tied up with her eternal battle with Anubis.

I didn't realize there was a shorter version - I thought it was a two parter, but not identified that way.

It would have made a good ending to the series, but I'm glad it continued.
