Nice, these are pretty sweetIt definitely looks like one of the sets that we saw (briefly) in the most recent trailer, though I obviously can't be sure.
Yea from the blueprints looks like it comes down from the ceiling! Almost looks like multiple primative ZPMS attached as well....
I am loving these sets. The ship definitely has some leftover influences from when the Alterans and Ori were one society.
It is definitely an interesting look. I have heard some complaints that this looks 'nothing' like the Ancients. Well, that's true, but millions of years in between the look of the Destiny tech and Atlantis tech, there is sure to be a difference in looks. I mean, in 100 years technology and architecture will look different.![]()

There are no regrets. Thank you Brad Wright and everyone else for SGU,
and the amazing Stargate franchise in general.
i hope that they design most of the ship and not change it every few episodes which allow people to constantly complain about the incosistencies.

I didn't realize joseph would release these pics, but in another thread when we were discussing the 'Steampunk' nature, these were the ones I had in mind -- this is a classic Steampunk-looking set and it's pretty awesome.
It's also very non-traditional -- I don't see viewscreens etc. unless FX puts them in later.
Oh, cmon, whats with the tubes everywhere? They ware Ancients with Stargate technology, space ships with capable of long journeys, hyperspace, artificial gravity and so on, i mean, you wouldn't see tubes everywhere and the steam punk style if we, real life humans, would have artificial gravity on our space ships.
AHHH, cmon, yes, the Destiny is old, but not THAT old! They would most defiantly have photonics (light based computing), witch means crystal technology, who knows what energy transfer and so on... It shouldn't look any worse than the Goauld tech.

I think it would have looked better with more than one control panel, like in the concept artwork. However it still looks good.
Wonder what it is? Maybe the primitive ancestor of the ZPM? Or just the Ancients boiler system for them all important hot baths?

Nice pickup on the possible old version of the ZPM's. You could be right. I think the ship definately has an old feel to it. I hope that there is a lot of exploration clips of this ship. Seeing these pictures isn't almost too much to take........ I wish I could set my DVR now!!!!!
I like the pics, and you can tell that the ship is old.
The tubes are probably for the internet...
Anyhow, we mustn't forget that there has been a great variety in human architecture and design over the course of history, so it shouldn't surprise us that not everything made by the Ancients looks exactly the same.
That also shows how much their technology advanced after they sent the Destiny out into the universe.

It should look somewhere between ori tech and milkyway tech. With a dash of steampunk thrown in cuz everyone loves steam punk.
New construction design pics and concept art for Desiny's Corridors
From Joe's blog.![]()
Hmmm... new hallway pics with berths for crew make me think the ship is going to be smaller than thought... otherwise why make such tiny sleeping berth???

Well the tubes are understandable, fluids are required for a ship to function, say cooling fluid, fuel and water. In order to be distributed thru out the ship, this ship may not have the energy convertion machine the Asgard have, hence the tubes.
Still the design of the ship is looking really good, in consistency with its age, and there is a mix of Ori and Altera design imbeded in the ship with the organic shapes representing the Ori and geometric forms representing the Atleran.
What im very curious is to see the exterior of the Destiny, but most likely we will see it until the pilot.
Took the time to take some of these, and gather what ive seen of the set.
