As of Season 5 of Atlantis finishing, what was the date?
My guess would be modern times. Season 5 of Atlantis was probably 2008/2009.
Actually I think you are right, in the episode uh....the one where they reveal the gate to the small group of nations there...Disclosure...Major Davis indicates that it is about a year in the past, given some of the diolougue that is the supposition that I reached at the time. Of course now that we have a break in the series, and we have no gate, the date remains unknown exactly when again. It will depend on how many years the universe premier is set after EaTG, and of course as the seasons went along it is possible that they were able to 'catch up' with today's time a bit more. There is no way to be certain, but in the long run I do agree that we are probably in a corridor stretching from 2008-10
I hearby vote Elite Anubis Guard for best sig in the history of the internet.
Big call but there are some big assets to back up my claim![]()
We probably should just start a new thread about how good Elite Anubis Guard's sig is
...Col. Foley's isn't too bad either
And I am fairly certain it is current time... doesn't really make sense they would make it a year earlier... maybe. On SG Wiki, we say that an event happened in the year an episode was aired... (although people like making it a habit to discredit the pants of that wiki... separate thread though)

Anubis 10545 on Stargate Wiki - A database for all Stargate knowledge.
The writers actually come up with the show because one of them touched a mysterious stone he bought at a yard sale and now has "visions" of these things, and the real program thought that it would be good to let the show run because of plausible deniability.
I've always been of the opinion that the Stargate timeline is more or less the same as ours.
In "A Matter Of Time" Jack speaks about a black operation that went wrong, leaving him trapped and imprisoned in Iraq, which I assume meant he was involved in Desert Storm.
As an aside:
It is a very nice sig, but oversized for both dimensions and kb.I hearby vote Elite Anubis Guard for best sig in the history of the internet.
eta: Woohoo! Post 2000!

I don't mean to sound like a nerdy fan who talks about science-fiction like it is real, but the problem with 'clever' storylines is that they make the audience start to think, and if you put in bad science, they are more likely to notice it. It breaks the suspension of disbeliefhttp://www.titanquest.net/forums/ima...ies/rockon.gif
I would say the shows timeline is with 1 year of what's going on in the real world.
Elite Anubis Guard, your sig "Make my heart go Ting-A-Ling."
"I only understand about 1% of what she says half of the time."
I think it's a lot closer than just within a year of the air date.
The easiest way to think of it is contemporary with real life. Ish.
