I probably would have. I haven't read any of the books but if I'd paid for two of them and they both sucked, then I really wouldn't have bought any more, regardless of the authors. It would just be too much of a risk of buying another cat in a bag, especially when there's also free fanfiction available.

    Down the Rabbit Hole (M-rated):
A malfunctioning quantum mirror causes an explosion and catches Major Samantha Carter unaware. When she comes to she discovers she has not only ended up on the wrong side of the mirror, but also the law! Forced to live as her counterpart, she tries to find a way home. Can she trust her CO's alternate or does he have a plan of his own?

That's why, despite my need for more SG1, I never ordered the comic books. I've mentioned in this thread before how the synopsis says something like "resident bad boy, Daniel Jackson...". That was all it took for me to decide the producers/writers couldn't know the source material very well and it would be both a waste of money and a souce of aggravation.

Try the comics from Avatar Press. They had the license first and they tried to keep things in character and continuity.

The ones from Dynamite aren't that great. The Vala trade is the best of the two series they put out and is worth a read. Just look for the trade paperback on eBay. The Daniel one is not that good at all.

I'm curious to know why you were mad when you got through with "Barque of Heaven"?
Because I finished it. It was sooo good, such an engaging story.

I think for me, the two weakest were The Power Behind the Throne and Sacrifice Moon. The only thing I didn't like about Sacrifice Moon was that it felt too short for me (I like my novels long, what can I say?). Power by the Throne had an abrupt ending, but I actually am one of those people who sort of liked it, because it kept me engaged until the...abrupt end.

Barque of Heaven and Do No Harm are my favorite ones so far. I'm reading Roswell right now.

I still feel that The Power Behind the Throne would have been good if we actually got the planned trilogy the author intended to write.

You might already know this, but Power Behind the Throne was supposed to be the first of a trilogy. Apparently MGM and the author couldn't come to agreement about it and so the last two books were shelved.

Yes I did, and I would have loved to see what happened next. It's a shame that they were shelved due to that, this particular story had the potential to be great - an alien that had the ability to reach into one's mind merely with a subconscious link, rather than the Replicator method of putting their hand in. Yes, creepy indeed!!
