When I come to do the SE schedule I am going to do my upmost to avoid conflict as much as possible but I can't get a quart out of a pint pot. I will be working on essentially what will be a Rubix cube of panels, autos and photos all dependent on a huge number of variables and taking into account a lot of different things.

You'll all just to have faith that however the schedule looks in the end, it will be the absolute optimum fairness I can squeeze out of it for everyone concerned having taken absolutely everything into account.

If you are really looking to pinch pennies there is a HI Hostel about an 8 minute walk away. It's about $30/night. If you can swing the hotel - look for roommates - I recommend it. It's easy and you don't run the risk of missing the mayhem that ensues at a con.

Went and got my new passport photo today. It turned out (as is usual with passport photos) hysterical. It will scare the living daylights out of any self respecting immigration officer! What's annoying is that my passport is valid until January 2011, but because Canada insists on at least 6 months being left on it, mine won't have quite enough (date to date) - so I have to renew it now.

The point of telling you this - do check your passports NOW so that you won't be caught off guard nearer the time. You must have at least six months left on your passport when you travel to Canada or they won't let you in.

I had big issues summer 2008 when I went to get my passport to apply for a work visa and discovered I'd lost it. Very fortunate that I worked that out when I still had time to apply for a new one, which I did very quickly and managed to get it in, turned around and they sent it back the day before they all went on strike.

I got it back two days before I travelled on holiday. I wouldn't recommend trying that trick

well, since canada requires at least 6 months on your passport, if it expires any time before Feb 2011, you better get a new one

I can understand your concern rderoch. However, we know the G4 will do their best to keep conflicts to a minimum. Unfortunately, there just won't be any way to avoid it completely. At the Creation event last April, I had to choose between seeing MS on stage or getting BW and RCC's autographs (guess which I picked ).

I'm lucky, last year between the GW dinner and the set tour, I got autographs and photos from all the main actors (except I never did get a photo with CH ) and the script we were given had DK and MW's autographs on it. So, for me, if it comes down to a conflict between seeing folks on stage or getting pics/autos, I will likely opt for the stage presentation.

I'm surprised. I've gone to the Chicago Creation event every year and never had to miss anyone.

So I'm thinking of going White Water Rafting while I'm in town for the SE and MTM - I've been rafting before in Uganda so I've done Class 3-5 rapids. Anyone tried it in BC?

I went rafting with Cel last time we were in Vancouver in Chilliwack. The water was quite low and I think the rapids were up to class three. We got the bus from downtown and it was a brilliant day out.

Yeah, we rafted in Chilliwack and it was fun, but I would have liked bigger rapids as they seemed very tame to me. We went with the rafting company more or less based on their website and pictures which looked promising, and of course the price.

I'd like to try rafting again in July, but Whistler is the place I'm told to go for it. They might be a bit more in price, but I'm sure the trip will be that much more enjoyable.

Ah yes! I'll begin gathering material and the odds and ends I need for my costume then. I'm glad they went with the Abnormal Ball again too as it was such fun and a great success at AT4.

I'm still working out my costume idea. Alot of it would be weighty in the packing so I'm trying to slim it down, so to speak, whilst retaining as much of the characters identity. Hauling the thing across the country and then on to NZ, it has to compact.

The opening times for reg are all in the 24 hour clock to avoid any confusion, and are as listed on the FAQ as follows:

SE- 15.00 UK = 07.00 PDT =10.00 EDT

MTM – 16.15 UK = 08.15 PDT = 11.15 EDT

The links will appear on the the main registration page so that is the page you need to refresh.

at 1500 UK time the page will change and SE link will appear, and at 16:15 UK time the page will change again and the MTM link will be revealed.

Clink on the link on the reg page which will take you to the pre-reg system for your event.
The first question is how many tickets do you want to request? you can ask for up to 4. you then hit a submit button,
At that point your place in the reg queue ( line) is held and your application has been assigned a time stamp and a reference number which stays with it throughout the process while you enter each persons details in a cool calm and controlled manner )

At the beginning of each persons details there is an option to also request a cocktail party ticket. This is default set to yes, so if you miss it you will be offered one if it's available which you can always turn down.
You will be prompted to enter details of the first person (the main booker/ group leader) you have requested a ticket for, and then it will move onto the next person. and so on. there are then a couple of general questions and the final submission button. You will get a final confirmation of request screen which we advise you save and print. If at the end of that you notice you make a spelling mistake or something minor like that, don't go back and try and change it just keep going to the end and then e-mail eventquestions@gabitevents.co.uk stating your reference number and let us know what is wrong. For filing purposes it would be incredibly helpful if you please keep correspondence for SE and MTM separate, ie send us two separate e-mails one with the SE number in the subject line and one with MTM number in the subject line. Please don't forget to include your full REAL name as well.

As far as I know, there are only two Sanctuary cons planned. The Sanctuary Experience which is in Vancouver July 30-Aug 1 and the other is in Australia in December.

You may catch Sanctuary actors at other conventions (for example Chris H. is doing some Stargate conventions).
