If you wre immortal how would you spend your life?

I'd like to learn all the things I wanted to learn, then laze around for 100 years, Then just try and travel everywhere and meet people, help them where possible and try and not be too conspicuous...

Then I'd try marriage a few times to see what that is like. I'm sure it will be a spectacular drama.

Susie: "Hey what wire'm i suppost to be cutting?"

Police are hiding behind bomb sheilds and susie is only armed with a pair of pliers.

I'd probably spend much of it wishing I was mortal....especially once my kids got old.

make people think i'm a god.....assuming i'd be immortal and invincible. they could try to kill me all they want, but i'd never die!!!! start a cult that eventually gathers a bunch of followers, evolves into a major religion, go on a global conquest take over, live a life of luxury, make top scientists spend there entire time figuring out interstellar travel, and move throughout the galaxy. then i'd go into hiding telling my followers i'd one day return. spend time amongst common folk, traveling from planet to planet(i'd have scientists figure out terraforming)helping people with various problems. then when my worshippers start going to war over how to interpret my teachings, i'd return to unite them all. eventually i'd reveal myself not to be a god and say i did all this to unite mankind. then i'd sleep for a few centuries.

I would try to get rid of crime, and then sit back and see how the human race evolves. But I agree with Jn, I couldn't bear to loose someone I loved as they grew old and I stayed the same.

OK if you got shot you'd bleed and suffer a bit but eventually heal and keep living.

But to keep this interesting I have changed the criteria a little.

Here are my revised thoughts on this.

1. You are immortal.

2. You do age but much slower then normal so say for every 20 years you age 2 or 3

3. You do get sick and can suffer illness but eventually you do heal. You'd have a mighty imune system by your 200th year I imagine.

4. You can get injured, even paralysed but given time the nerves to repair eventually.

5. Only one thing can possibly kill you. Fire. If you're trapped in a burning building you will burn and die. I can't imagine you surviving after being burnt to ashes. Same for being caught at ground zero in a bomb blast. And yes an atomic bomb would vaporize you thus killing you.

Immortality is boring stuff. You'd have done everything a gazillion times over, and end up very, very bored.

Well I kinda imagine going round Africa 'removing' the war lords wouldn't exactly be dull.

But in my spare time I'd probably do what I do for recreation now, good literature, good theatre, good television, exercise, probably get myself a handful of degrees in various subjects currently largely unfamiliar to me above a basic level. Wouldn't mind having a PhD in Psychology and a PhD in Physics.
