She could be an officer with EMT training and the only person available to serve the medic role.

Possibly - medical training in a different career before joining the USAF would be one thing.

But it must be remembered that character bios have referred to this character as having joined the USAF after not having enough money to go to med school - I would thus assume she's fairly young and is on her first career.

The problem is the use of the word 'medic' - that's a very specific role. One which is not carried out by officers. I could quite easily see her being an inexperienced Doctor, despite having completed her medical training - but an inexperienced medic? No.

A little OT for the thread, but she sounds like a fantastic character - loved the shots in the CP and the things Huffman had to say about her
