agreed, great cliffhanger. If it is picked up for season 2 *crosses fingers* will we have to wait til next Spring or this Fall for it to return? any idea at this point?

Good news!! The season finale of "Castle" scored a 7.0/12 for ABC, which is part of a continuing trend up if my memory serves me correct. It has been second in its timeslot every week since inception, and while that is not first, it is not third or forth. I am thinking that it will be renewed.

I also have done the message thing, and posted on the boards at the network. I think the fan support is good. The network has done nothing to support the show in advertizing, although it did put it in after DWTS (which itself I think is down in the ratings this year - don't know for sure as I don't watch it, but friends tell me this season has not had quite the following of some previous years).

Great season finale. I love how Castle always surprises with his character. And nice to see a strong postive father figure being played on tv for once. I think the daughter is a very fine actress herself. The bond between them is very genuine onscreen.

Also loved the cameo by Robert Picardo - we are obviously supposed to see more of him in the future.

Yes, I checked. Castle bumped up each of the last 3 weeks, and it seems that it started to pick up some good increases in viewership. its low was 5.1/8, and since that time it has gone up every week.

To me, with even some moderate support, this is a show that has great long term potential. So lets have great news on the 19th!

Castle dropped last week in the 18-49 share, that's the most crucial thing that gets considered. Hopefully not enough to hurt its chances of a second season tho

I went to the ABC site and they apparently have not "officially" announced it but rather only leaked it, but I think they would more strongly release info against if it were not true. The Castle message board at ABC is full of talk about the renewal, and Entertainment Weekly also had a commentary on the renewal.

Apparently the ABC brass very much like the show, maybe we will even see them give it a better timeslot in the future?

So I am a happy guy at this moment!

I wonder if the thinking on remaining in the timeslot is that it is consistently second (which is better then third or forth), has at least started to build a following in that slot, and will continue to get some pulll from DWTS?

I did go to the castletv site, but I do note it has no affiliation with the network or show, and so posting there is fun, but has no influence on the network. So I also did some posting at the network site.

When networks change around their schedules, I usually stop watching because I just don't know when it's on.

Doing a re-watch. If you look closely at the street scene in Nanny McDead when they're approaching the playground you can see election flyers for Horn & Bollinger... who are at the center of the case in Hell Hath No Fury. Pretty cool, eh? Still looking for the backlot shot that matches up with the heist scene in Doctor Horrible...

I don't think you'll find it, pretty sure Castle filmed after Dr Horrible (pretty sure about all but maybe the pilot anyway and that was filmed in NY) and the backlot burnt down not long after Dr Horrible was filmed (did someone bounce the wonderflonium?)
