1. Open a canvas 1280x800 with this colour: #c8c4af
2. Add this
nautical chart of Dutch Harbor as a new layer -> layer mode: linear burn, opacity 52%
3. Paste the photos you want, I used
1,
2 and
3 -> set on darken
4. Bland the images only there where the edges overlap each other and erase the parts of the chart behind their faces so the lines of the chart don’t disturb.
5. New fill layer: #c73247, layer mode: soft light, opacity 18%
6. New adjustment layer-> curves
7. New adjustment layer -> selective colouring
8. New fill layer -> gradient map. I created my own,

9. New adjustment layer -> photo filter ->cold filter, 25% opacity (or new fill layer with #006dff, soft light, 25% opacity – looks a little different though)
10. New adjustment layer -> selective colouring
11. New fill layer with #98875f; layer mode: darken; opacity: 49%
12. Add this
texture by
shaded color and resize it to the whole canvas size -> layer mode: darken; opacity: 49%
13. Open these textures
1 or
2 by
vikyvampirs90 -> invert them -> paste on the canvas where you like -> layer mode: multiply
14. Also add some handwritten textures and set them on darken or multiply. I couldn’t find the one I used on my harddrive nor on the web, I’m sorry ?
15. Add a new fill layer and fill it with black -< take the rectangular tool, mark and delete different areas around the faces of the photos -> layermode on exclusion (yep, it’s right that the layer is invisible now)
16. New layer -> use nautical brushes like
