I know the gou'uld influenced ancient egypt and from what it looks like lord yu some how influeced east? Also Azgard had influences in Scandinavia. All great Early history societys. What about Romans. Did anyone influence them? I saw that there are some comic books about this issue, but i dont take those very seriously. Any hints in any of the SG-1 eps?

The Romans had their Ancients, and the Romans were the builder of roads. Watch 2x15 The Fifth Race.

It think the Ancients are 'responsible' for the Roman Gods in SG-Universe.
For instance, my ancient namesake was an Ancient scientist and the Roman God of New Year.

Ancient civilizations appear to have been influenced by everyone.

The Asgard very heavily influenced Norse culture.

The Ancients appear to have influenced Romans and Greeks and probably Egypt. ('Road Builders' & the tale of Atlantis)

The Ascended also appeared to play a small role in a few religions. (Mother Nature) (Enlightenment religions)

The Goa'uld use Egyptian and Mongol theology, the Asgard use Norse theology and I believe the Ancients to have influenced the Mediterranian (Roman, Greek and mediterranian island cultures)
And then you have Sokar, who has influenced the devil in Christian religion.

So the influences pretty much go from 500 BC 'til 300 AD. Too bad the board of directors doesn't want to take the risky approach and include them all

Possible other cultures ? Maybe the Furlings influenced Germanic cultures ? The lack of Germanic explanations of that time is perhaps a hole left to explore in the future.

I'd like the Furlings to never been on Earth. They're from another galaxy, as are the Oannes. The Oannes were sent to MW as Furling ambassadors and left some fancy writing the stuff there. The Furlings built the transporter (Paradise Lost) and maybe has one planet in MW with technology where the Oannes live.

I thought that amphibious guy who was searching Daniel's brain for what happened to Omorosa was of the Oannes?

The Goa'uld seemed to be centered in ancient Egypt, but they did spread around the earth. We've seen Egyptian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Babylonian, Greek, and Celtic Goa'uld, and more.

I realize that ultimately, I'm probably wrong, but aren't the Roman gods just the ancient Greek gods just with different names? I think the only way that the Romans were influenced in the Stargate universe (as has already been mentioned) was the idea of the Ancients being the "builders of roads", or however they put it.
Yes, I really do look like (a younger) Daniel. Don't believe me? Look for yourself.

I don't think that all the Goa'uld have a place in some Mythology. Think of the size of their numbers, there is no way there are enough religions on one planet in a few thousand years to account for all of those. I think the major players were known to us because we heard of the stories of wars, alliances, etc.. between them. The little guys may have just been "yes" men.

                          Camulus: From Celtic mythology

From a quick search, I can't find anything on Ramius, Thanos comes up as a comic book character.

Tilgath: A King from Assyrian history.

Mot: The kind of apple sauce one of the writers likes?

Baal was originally the sun god of the Canaanites and Phoenicians.
