SGA’s Jewel Staite on End of Show

TVGuide.com: Who did you bond with most in the cast?
Staite: That's a toss up between David Hewlett and Amanda Tapping (Col. Sam Carter). I think we all have a mutual respect for each other, but we love to tease each other, too. And Amanda's just one of those really likeable people. She's gracious, professional, easy-going, lovely to be around, and besides that, she's really easy to crack up. The three of us did an episode together in season four called Trio that involved us and a filthy, dusty room that was rigged to tilt and shake. It should have been a miserable week, but I've never laughed so hard. I think the crew was starting to get a little fed up with us because we ruined so many takes, but it was one of the most fun weeks I've ever had on the job.

It is a shame that of all the actors on the show who have been there for many years, JS is the one that is featured in this little Q&A.
Then again, maybe d/t Firefly she's the only one the writers knew?

Or David or Rachel or Jason?? It's hard to fathom the inner workings of TV critics, unless they're a guy, and then they're going to want to interview the pretty girl. Although I think Rachel would definitely fit in that category.

obviously it can't be possible that Staite was available for an interview and the others weren't or that they are actually interviewing all of them in their "countdown to the finale" and Staite's happened to be the one they published first.

yeah, that'd just be silly. It's probably more likely that they actually hate Flanigan and/or are doing it to piss off a handful of people on the internet.

It isn't about who My favorite actor is! this is about the fact they talked to the LAST person to join the cast. It Should have been Joe, David Or Rachel seeing that they have been there from the START!

It's as someone else has already said: Why interview the last person to join the cast? Why not one of the folks who have been with the show since day one, like Flanigan or Hewlett? Since many interviews are done over the phone, it's not like it would incur a first class airfare

Yes, it's nice that Jewel is available, but then again, they're all out of work so probably available.... I'd love to hear their comments since they've been there since the show's inception and probably would have a lot more to say, but then the interview did push the McKellar stuff, so maybe that's why she was chosen. Sex sells *cough*.

That's why she was the only name put in for a Gemini as well. TPTB hate everyone else, so it makes sense that the critics and journalists do too.

yeah, they don't actually submit all the actors because who gets chosen as a nominee for the Gemini awards is entirely up to the Stargate producers.

The producers also have a little book that they write down names of people they don't like. At the start of everyday they have to sit down and spend 20minutes pondering "How can we piss off fumblesmcstupid and Linzi today?". Then they contact their circle of critics and journos who are in with them, and get them to publish articles designed to do so. Meanwhile, the actors that those people in the book do like are given the backseat treatment. It works out best for everyone that way.

I really don't know of anybody who hates the actress, the character perhaps, but not the actress. I like both (having met her, she seems quite nice), but dislike the fact that the writers can't write her as a competent doctor. When she'd rather gab with the team than treat people who need medical attention, it just boggles the mind.
