scifi pays for sanctuary, thus it's in their benefit to promote it. and hers too.
Yet SCI FI is still making money from SG-1 and SGA. But you are right. As a Carter fan, you have to feel a little upset about this, knowing they are ignoring 11 years of Amanda's career on Stargate.

Also, SGA is not a walking dead show. Not with a movie being produced for SCI FI. I feel there will be multiple SGA movies to air on the network. SG-1 is not dead either since they continue to make movies that will likely air on SCI FI as well. SCI FI is even going to air the first two SG-1 movies next year.

no, doesn't bug me at all.

the one thing that would be helpful is to know which hours out of the 5 she's actually in so that i can more easily cut out the other junk and only keep her bits and pieces

every time i've tried to watch this show, it's just like that. this walking around, going "hello? we wont' hurt you" etc. What I can't fathom is how this show does so well...

and speaking of the scifi forums, can't get into them. says password/name combo isn't working and it's not just me. some other fans have asked if I can look into it but I said, I can't get in either!

Oh, AT just mentioned both SG1 and Sanctuary (Sam was a subordinate, knew the rules, etc.) while Helen on Sanctuary 'breaks the mold'.

SCI FI.com has been locked out so don't log off, lol.

She did mention SG-1? Ok I feel better now. I just cannot watch this with all the "Hello, Anybody there" " OMG, I just felt something" "Um, dude that was me".

    locked out? okay, thanks!

I must admit I would be a terrible test audience for this show. I still remember the one ad in which the guys turns around and goes "What was THAT?!" and I'm like "Hello, it's the cameraman in front of you, silly."

Ah, recognize the tall guy from that new skiffy show. Used to be on JORDAN'S CROSSING as one of the guys in the morgue...

I think in comparison to making a show like SGA, this GH special was cheap. No sets, just rent a building for a night (and not in a high-rent district either!), and apparently there are enough people out there who watch this kind of stuff.

As for Amanda, I can see why she did the show. As an executive producer, she knows publicity is key to getting and keeping an audience, so spending half a day standing around nodding but getting to plug Sanctuary is worth the trip. But SciFi did use this marathon to push their new shows. The shame is that SGA never got this kind of push. It was always the 'stepchild,' as fans have called it, destined to ride the coattails of SG1's PR, which wasn't much toward the end.

But as for this show, well, *yawn*, did they find any ghosts?

Did find a fun character ad for Ronon though

Did anybody watch the whole thing or know if anything "exciting" happened on it?

The show was so dead boring, it made the ghost look more alive.

The only way to watch that show is if you are on IM and talking with others Now that I've seen it, I won't be going back...I just don't understand the high ratings it gets

Well, I DVRd it and have been watching it on and off, while using that handy dandy skip 30 seconds button quite a bit. Aside, from the incident where something was tugging on Grant's jacket, this was a waste of air time.

This is a show that should never be done live, nor should it ever be more than an hour long.

I could see the interest some have in the show when it's cut down to an hour, but this 7 hour program was nothing more than a promotional stunt to hype SciFi's other shows, with the off chance that in the 7 hours they were there, maybe capture 2 minutes combined of interesting/intriguing "phenomena".

To be quite honest, if it didn't have Amanda Tapping in it, I wouldn't have bothered watching it at all.

Or, as Jack once said in Solitudes: "It's just my gun, Carter, I swear!"

I hate these ghost hunter shows. I never watch them, because they're so phony. But, being a huge Tapping/SG-1 fan, I would have checked this out had I known Tapping was along for the ride.

Still, judging from the bad reviews about the GH episode here, it's probably just as well that I missed it.

Pretty much my sentiments, too. Way not my show. But makes me wonder if the othe eps are ad-centric (for shows), too.

Just sayin', put in some divided attention time, perking up whenever Amanda was on. Guess it was just enough for my Amanda fix till the next SANCTUARY episode.

I only watched it for an hour, but I did get to see her a couple times. Around the time they started going on about that ECW wrestler, I quit watching because it annoyed me.

The wrestler was annoying to me, too, but AT was terrific. I've been ghosthunting for the last decade and I was completely envious of them getting to go to Fort Delaware. They had a pretty good night, I watched about five of the seven hours. AT was curious and thoughtful and very much "an explorer". The little group of investigators she was with called her "The Queen of Scifi."

thats rather cruel... she's not old enough for that title
A word of advice... there are creatures that live between this dimension and the next, fiendish creatures that feast on the suffering of an entire world to satiate their eternal hunger. Support the Gateworld Cantina or suffer the fate of all who fall into the clutches of the 'Eladrith Ynneas'
