RDA said at Gatecon that Charlie Cohen (Head of MGM) is going to put in an order for a 3rd movie. RDA had been talking earlier about his weight gain due to being laid up after the knee surgery he had, and said patting his stomach with a smile "I'll be losing this". He then looked around furtively and whispered "There may be a third movie but don't tell anyone!" It sounds to me from this that he will be in the 3rd movie if and when it's announced.

Does anybody know how long it take to film such a movie? I mean, one ep usually takes 8 days. The movie is twice as long but I doubt that it takes only 16 days to film. Or does it?

I think the first two movies were filmed in about three weeks or so. It's not only about how long it will take to shot it, but also the CGI and the editing and bunch of other stuff. Continuum was shot a year before it actually came out.

Yeah, I know that there's more to a movie than the filming itself, I was more curious about how much time the crew and cast actually spend together during the actual filming.

I did some digging and it looks like Continuum took 19 days + 5 days in Antarctica to film.

I'm happy as long as there will be more SG-1 movies... but indeed they might not need to rush it and maybe see it a bit bigger??? A theatrical release this time?

Jack-centric? This is the first I've heard about it. PLEASE tell me it isn't so! I thought that the SG-1 universe is moving forward not backwards. I don't mean to offend anyone but I'd rather see more new stuff or at least the season 9-10 stories finished, like the Lucian Alliance.

    Vala,
Everything I mentioned in my first post is true and has been officially said by the people I mentioned (JM/BW/CJ). Forgot to add before but AT said she had also scheduled time in for the filming of the third movie in an interview roughly around the same time CJ made his comment.

And the SG1 universe is moving forward. S9/S10 were wrapped up with AoT and BW/RCC/JM have all said as much. BW is now moving things forward while sticking to the original golden formula. S1-8 have a whole variety of storylines that need to be wrapped up as well.

    Vala,
GW: You were spinning your third movie idea. What can you tell us?

BW: It's an O'Neill story, and I would include as many of our cast as we could, both financially and in terms of availability.

    Vala,
I think another step back to the old days is exactly what is needed. The magic of Continuum is that it felt like back during the Golden days, Mitchell notwithstanding.
