Don't have time to catch up with the discussion right now, but I wanted to let you know that New Atlantis has new pictures up. Still none of Elizabeth, but hopefully we'll be getting those soon!

Who knows. I guess things must be okay, if they're travelling together to Australia, but that sort of comment kind of makes me feel it's a little weird..... don't know the context, of course...

Geesh, another 'space skank of the week' in this one?
    Spoiler:
Ok...somebody 'clue' me in again about Epiphany? Isn't this the one where the woman is trying to get him to give her a baby so she can hog his ancient gene? Good grief! She looks about 24!
Get a CLUE John! And a real woman! Of course, I'm trying to be understanding here. I mean he is terrific looking so any woman is going to go 'yummy' over him and he has been in space 'without' for two years and that's tough on any active guy but come ON! If it ain't proper for him to be getting involved with someone on Atlantis then it certainly isn't proper for him to be
    Spoiler:
smoochin on some space skank on a work-related mission!
    Who wrote this one anyhoo?

Your spoiler refers to "The Tower". yes, that sounds like a hot skank of the week too. Back half of the season sounds like they really are taking Shep down the "male ho" path (like I've read elsewhere). I'm hoping that doesn't happen.

I think that the S/T ship had something there *hides* in that there was chemistry to begin with. But as the two became closer, it seemed to fizzle out, but the potential was still there, and it was unresolved. S/W on the other hand, seems to be something that has built up over time (and thus will probably last a lot longer), and it's come to a sort of crossroads. The introduction of Ronon, while it present another alternative for Teyla, still didn't put it to rest. But
    Spoiler:
    the S/T kiss did.
It seemed that they both realised that whatever chemistry had existed, didn't. And that they were better off as friends. Of course, Sheppard needs to open his eyes to the fact that Weir is head over heels in love with him, but I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer for that.

ACK! You HAVE to be kidding me! MORE Kirkin!? After the disaster that WAS -Skankuary!? Will they not learn? stupid males. I'd rather him get it on with Teyla than turn into Daddy Pimp-O! At least he knows her and cares about her on some level! I ABHOR Kirkin! I REALLY hate how I'm going to DISLIKE John's character if he goes this route! (stupid male writers) Who wrote these two eps? I think they *wanted* to have chemistry because each looked at the other and went, 'eh, good looking alien person here!' but beyond that, it just never 'went'. And yeah, Shep needs to quit trying to be friggin eighteen and take a look around him.

I'm NOT happy with Shep at this moment. I'm sure it'll pass but right now I want to put my foot in his anus. -or more specifically the clueless male writer's.

Yes, that and the fact that Teyla was supposed to be the one all the guys lusted after, so it would make sense. Not to mention that Weir was sorta seen as being apart from their group at the start.

    Spoiler:
    Epiphany
From what I know from "Epiphany" is that
    Spoiler:
Sheppard gets caught in some sort of portal that transports him to a place that is full of people who are descendants of the Ancients and they are nearing the path to ascension. Teer, aka Girlfriend of the week, is one of those people since she has the power of clairvoyance. Also the teenager, Hedda, has a crush on Sheppard too.

Anyways in this planet the time goes faster than normal. So it seems that as soon as Sheppard enters this portal and a year goes by, in reality (normal Atlantis time) only a short time has gone by. Its been described as only five minutes has gone by but to Sheppard it's been a year, but I think more than five minutes passes.

Since I remember someone, probably Mel, saying that Weir is brought into do some translating of text around the portal that Sheppard is stuck in. So if translating is required, I think its a safe bet that more than five minutes passes. So hopefully we get to see Elizabeth exercise her awesome linguistic skills again, and maybe throw in some angst for a missing John, again.

Anyways, while Sheppard is in this other planet there is "Beast" that is on the planet and it injures Sheppard. I guess that is how he ends up in Teer's care, since Hedda has the power of healing. Also Girlfriend of the Week and her people try to get Sheppard to ascend with them and it seems as though he'd rather leave than ascend with them. Also Teer believes that the "beast" is what is preventing them from ascending.

At first I have this fear of this turning into another "Hundred Days" but the fact that Sheppard doesn't seem to give up trying to get back gives me hope. Girlfriend of the Week is just that Girlfriend of the week. I just hope John knows what Elizabeth is doing to try to get his butt back to Atlantis.

You mean both of them aren't teeny boppers?! Could have fooled me. Although I can understand the 'fangirl crush a little...IF that is all it amounts to. I tell you what though I don't like 'horndog' behavior out of a character-male or female and I certainly don't like it out of john who is plenty old enough to know better.

A YEAR!? Without seeing his precious Elizabeth?! Talk about 'horndog' behavior! We BETTER get some 'gladness' from him when he returns to his real woman after a friggin YEAR!

I think the Eliz. Angst is a 'given' at this point. And I certainly DO like her being pro-active -Especially where it concerns her honey.

I do hope that he 'chooses' freely to come back to Atlantis even with her shakin her thang in his face. Just say 'no' to space sluts John.

First, haven't the foggiest what 'Hundred Days' is about (I take it that is an sg-1 ep) but feel free to clue me in to why that's a bad thing for this ep to be. Yeah, he *should* find out at some point how she grieves for him-it's about time he figured that one out. I'd love to see her 'lose it' a little soon and go off on him actually.

Thanks for fillin me in hon...

You asked about "100 Days" - it was a so-so SG1 episode where a meteor hits the stargate and buries it, trapping Jack on a planet. Since they have no way to dig out the gate, he appears to be stuck there forever. He eventually moves in with a woman who is the local leader, has a "relationship" with her, but luckily Sam figures a way back at SGC to burn the rubble through the wormhole - Teal'c goes through and digs his way to the surface. Jack is saved but when he leaves there is a "hint" that Jack's "girlfriend" is pregnant. TPTB never went back to that planet and some fans continue to wonder if there is a Jack Jr. running around the universe.

Yes, "A Hundred Days" is an old SG-1 episode, where basically Jack is trapped on a planet because during a meter shower the stargate is buried and he has no hope of getting back.

And there is this woman, Lara, who obviously has a thing for Jack. And she tells Jack about how she mourned a period of 100 days after her husband died. So after a period of about 100 days she tries to convice Jack that his life is here now and offers to take away his old stuff...eg. uniform, radio, etc. And I think she also tells him that she wants another child or something, even though she already has a teenage son.

Of course, during this whole time back in SGC, Sam and everyone else is working their butts off trying to find a way to get Jack back. And of course the rest of SG-1 figures out a way to get Jack back and stuff.

As you can see it isn't one of my favorite episodes.

"Just say no to space Sluts!" LMAO I think that is a new slogan!

Well...that just sounds like a big ol' GAGFEST for Sam/Jack shippers. You're right...I do hope this ep is *nothing* like that. I just ABHOR bad and honestly L-A-Z-Y slut of the week type of writing. I mean, the man has been 'building' a real and meaningful relationship of the heart with a woman for going on two years and I just hate to see that 'ship demeaned-even slightly because he 'suddenly' can't keep it in his zipper any longer. Ya know? I mean, there is NO way that I 'buy' that he has 'built' some sort of connection or 'ship with some slut of the week. No. Friggin No. John is better than that. The shep/weir relationship is better than that and deserves better than that. Can I see him tempted by a pretty space slut? Sure. He's a guy. But, imo, if the 'guy' knows it's a one-shot deal and with john-he's the military commander of atlantis for goodness sakes! He's a grown, mature man! HE KNOWS it's a 'one-shot' deal or short-termer unless he's planning on bringing space slut girlfriend and her family back to meet his other 'family' on Atlantis. Oh yeah, we can all really see that happening. Puleze. I just hate those sort of eps that imo, are lazy writing and demean the character of my fave characters.

    Ya know?

Except for the pretties, I am hating this thread tonite! Bah! So, as to avoid space-sluts...

We need a plan to get all our lovely lurkers to come out and play.

We've offered Gritty Mints, but that only works once. Only the strong ones survive the aftertaste.

Maybe we should offer lip balm!
