When Atlantis was under siege from the Wraith the Ancients submerged the city. Why didn't they just use the stardrive to bring Atlantis back to Earth ? (we know from "Before I sleep" that they had 3 fully charged ZPMs when they left the city)

My guess is that there were tons of Wraith Hiveships in orbit. They would've never made it past them (the stardrive and the shield would have probably drained too much power).
Plus it would have been really bad for the story lol.
They couldn't wait 4 days to reach the MW as they REALLY needed to use the Toilet so took the Stargate instead.
Besides..........Earth now had the second evolution of humans living on it. Where would they park a Giant City?
For Wraith, hunger burns like a fire.
Tell me, Sheppard, if you found yourself burning alive, would you settle for just one drop of water ...
....... or would you take more?
Damn Atlantis and it's lack of toilets!
I guess they could have buried it in the sands of Africa...
Also, we would be too powerful, and it would conflict with history, because if it was still parked here, we would have ZPM's and we would be a lot advanced by now.
Your assumption seems to be based on First Strike when 1 ZPM is in use. When you have 3 ZPMs working in parallel and powering the city, there is plenty of juice for everything. On top of that they had the drilling platform. So, they could have used the First Strike approach to take off and save zpm power. There are tons of inconsistencies in the story. It was shown in S2 that with one ZPM the Wraith need a few days to drain the shield. Add to that two more ZPMs and one genius Janus and bye bye Pegasus. They could have taken Atlantis and passed through the Wraith barricade. Why? They Wraith were not able to penetrate the shield for hundreds of years. Just another Atlantis "plot twist".
Another aspect where the writers portrayed the Ancients stupid. They dialed Earth and left Pegasus under the assumption that the Wraith will die of old age. They did not think of the millions of lives in the Galaxy. It was such a thrill for the Ancients to find out that humans, one of the dumbest races in the SG universe, now with big guns from the Asgard and Ancients, will wipe out the Wraith. Jeez
.

I meant, we would be powerful enough to pwn all the Gouald in the galaxy in one fell swoop. Which would make the show boring.
La vie est une tragédie - Tout le monde meurt à la fin.
L'Histoire est une comédie - Les gentils gagnent toujours à la fin.

Why bring a ship with you as extra baggage, that can get destroyed? And where do you plan to dock it? At the buried Antarctic outpost? They would have been smart enough to know that due to geological stuff, it gets buried.
I meant, all the Gouald. Which means exterminating their species once and for all.
We didn't. There are a lot of minor Gouald still hiding, and a few major ones with unknown fates.
It isn't. The Gouald may be megalomaniac, but they are quite smart. They can amass a fleet without even someone noticing. And if they reveal the fact that the Tauri started the Ori war, things can get worse and bleak for the Tauri. I'm not a Gouald supporter. Just don't underestimate the Gouald.
They can. They can even embed themselves into an SG teams, and presto! All-access pass for a hostile gouald into the SGC!
BTW, Don't you know the Gouald has oversized sleeves so they can pull more tricks for the SGC out of it? (joke)
