I had several Star Trek arcade pinball machines at one point in time. They were great! I had the original Star Trek, ST:TNG and ST:First Contact pinball machines. Sigh. What fun they were.

... However the episode turns out, it's a cinch to be more entertaining than Atronic's new Stargate SG-1 slots. The reel-spinning version is a snooze, the video one slightly better. But 10 years of Stargate mythology was put to surprisingly little use. These new games aren't a patch on IGT's latest iteration of its Star Wars machines.

            **snippage**

Over at the Atronic booth, one attention-grabber was Stargate SG-1, with a theme licensed from the world's second-longest-running TV science fiction show. SG-1's 10-year run is second only to the BBC's "Doctor Who" in its original 26-year run.

Despite its long run, Stargate isn't as universally known among non-sci-fi fans as, say, Star Trek. When it interviewed slot players in focus groups, Atronic found that only about half had heard of Stargate, but even the ones who hadn¹t heard of it had a good time playing the game.

There were two versions on display, a video game and a reel-spinner. Atronic makes good use of the Stargate, whisking you through space in bonus events. On the video version with a 52-inch plasma Stargate over the bank of machines, there are three game themes, each based on a character from the show. All link to a four-level progressive jackpot. On the reel-spinning version, there are three main reels plus a fourth bonus reel, where locking in the Chevrons can take you to the Stargate at the top of each machine.

Stargate has loads of potential, but the biggest star at Atronic remains Deal or No Deal. Atronic locked up licensing for the theme years ago, when the game show was a European hit but had not yet been seen in the United States. That foresight has been paying off ever since ...

Join the secret military team of STARGATE SG-1™ in this multi-bonus progressive link. Based on the popular movie and TV show, STARGATE SG-1 is the video slot version with 5 distinct bonuses that summon recognisable features from the STARGATE SG-1 series, like the Stargate Chevrons and Dial-Home Device.

STARGATE SG-1 features five out-of-this-world bonuses. The player must bet max lines and side bet +20 to trigger a bonus. Once triggered, one of the five bonuses is randomly selected. The excitement builds as the Stargate appears, seemingly ready to pick up players for a trip to explore the galaxy. The chevrons start illuminating and continue to glow as the player selects a bonus.

              Bonus Features

To be eligible for one of the five exciting bonus features, the player has to activate the SGC Bonuses by playing the 20 credit Bonus Bet. STARGATE SG-1 is housed in both, the e²™ and e² SLANT™ cabinets. The impressive sign package will attract enormous attention, and players will be standing in line to travel to another planet.

Haven't seen anyone post an update regarding the SG-1 slot machines, so...

I just recently visited Las Vegas and found the SG-1 slot machines at the "New York New York" casino. Luckily, they are penny slots... so it ate my money at the slowest possible pace. Each machine had slightly different graphics during play based on the charcter. So, laptops and zats for the Carter machine, SGC logos for the O'Neill machine, and Ha'taks for the Jackson machine. Common to all machines are the Stargate bonuses... lock in three to receive a randomly selected prize. When I played, it pretty much turned out to be about 300 credits.

The game is explained in a lot of detail and screenshots at the Atronic site... so I don't have much to add other than it played as advertised.

"New York New York" has a cluster of two Carter machines, two Jackson machines, and two O'Neill machines with a large sign above the cluster. The machines look exactly like the image in morjana's post.. but the large sign is a bit different. There was a good size crowd at the machine... and I was just slightly curious if anyone there actually knew what they were playing .

Oh, thank you for your information.

Wow, penny slots at Vegas? That's surely a sign of our economic struggles currently. I haven't seen penny slots in years, and then, it was at a casino in Reno.

Darn. Have to scheme somehow about going to Vegas.

I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to speak on it. lol

I never knew this game existed because the casino where I live doesn't have it. I recently went to a different casino and was almost floored when I saw Jack, Daniel and Sam staring back at me. Of course I had to play.

It was a penny slot, but in order to play for the bonus rounds you needed to play 60 cents. no big woop unless you're somone not use to playing more than 35 cents. lol Yeah I'm a big roller. tee hee.

anyhoo. It is expensive and you can go through $20 fast... but it pays big if you hit it at a good time. I was addicted to it, so before I knew it I had spent 2 hours on the game and was down almost $40.

I moved from Jack to Daniel cause Jack stopped being lucky and played the last $10 I had on him. I won, I lost, I won, I lost, eventually I was $5 away from being $40 in the hole when I took one last spin....

and won $75!! One spin... not even a bonus round! woot!

its a very fun and addictive game. I just wish they'd make a PC version of it. (Phantom EFX creates slot machine games for PC players (entertainment only, no money obviously). I own almost all their slot games.)

It would be cool if they turned it into a PC game. Get more people addicted. More people addicted would mean more people will want to play at the casino. More people playing at the casino = more casinos will pick up the slots. (I'm going to email my casino and ask them to look into it.)

                      Anyhoo... I really enjoyed it.

(Switzerland).- Swiss players have entered a new dimension of gaming following Atronic International’s installation of its popular linked progressive game, Stargate SG-1, at six casinos in the country. In May, a bank of Stargate SG-1 machines debuted at Grand Casino Bern, followed by installations in Locarno and Bad Ragaz. Further Stargate installations are planned at Casino Barriérede Montreux and Grand Casino Lugano. Available on the premium double screen e² or e² Slant cabinet, and based on the blockbuster movie and internationally popular TV series, Stargate SG-1 offers five distinct bonuses and four progressive levels.

The Stargate games have been busy since installation and are performing well across the country. At Casino Locarno, Stargate SG-1 is one of the top performers and is improving the total floor average...
