Q ~ Quarks - The Quarks were used on Dulkis by the Dominators to enslave and terrorise the indigenous Dulcian population to ensure the drilling of bore holes through the planet's crust. The Dominators planned to use their technology to fire seeds down the holes which would force the core to erupt, thus providing a new fuel source for their fleet.

The Quarks were rectangular in shape, with four arms: one pair which folded into the body, the other pair being retractable. On the end of each arm was a solitary claw. The legs extended out below the Quark body. The spherical head was visibly divided into octants; the upper four octants formed the sensory hemisphere, which detected changes in light, heat and motion. At five of the corners of the octants were directional crystal beam transmitters (the sixth corner joined with the robot's extremely short neck). Quarks communicated by means of high-pitched sound waves. Their major weakness was a tendency to run out of energy rather quickly.

U ~ Ulysees Meregrass - Ulysees Meregrass was an Anuran who had been one of the jailers on the prison planet Volag-Noc and the military advisor to the Mantasphids on the planet Myarr. He also possessed one of the data chips of the Infinite. When the Mantasphid Queen tricked him, he stormed off only to be murdered by Baltazar. He needed a portable water tank to stop him from dehydrating. (DW: The Infinite Quest)

    ^ Should have been 'R'

R ~ Racnoss - The Racnoss appeared in the Tenth Doctor story "The Runaway Bride" in 2006.

The Racnoss were an ancient race of aliens from the Dark Times of the universe. Half-humanoid, half-arachnid in appearance, they were an invasion force who consumed everything on the planets they conquered (they were always insatiably hungry, even at the moment of birth). Their race was wiped out by the Fledgeling Empires, including (and judging by the Empress's anger and fear at the mention of Gallifrey, in particular) the Time Lords, over 4.6 billion years ago. Nearly all of the survivors of the race escaped in their ship to where the Earth would later form, serving in place of a planetesimal as its core, hibernating for billions of years, with the exception of their Empress. She would later come to Earth in her ship, the Webstar, seeking to use the Huon particles which had been recreated by the Torchwood Institute as a means of resurrecting her "children" before feasting on the human population of Earth. The last Racnoss were presumed wiped out when the Doctor drained the waters of the Thames down the shaft leading to their ship; the Empress was killed when her own ship was destroyed by the army at the order of Mr. Saxon.

S ~ Slitheen Family - The Slitheen Family are a family of Raxacoricofallapatorian criminals from the planet Raxacoricofallapatorius. The Slitheen are rivals (and "cousins") with the Blathereen family, descendants of the Huspick Degenerate and cousins of the Rackateen. Blon said that they use Venom Grubs to dispose of family members not willing to engage in criminality activities.

V ~ Valiant - The Valiant is a UNIT controlled airborne aircraft carrier which featured in the 2007 story The Sound of Drums. W ~ Web of Fear, The - The TARDIS narrowly avoids becoming engulfed in a web-like substance in space. It then arrives in the London Underground railway system, the tunnels of which are being overrun by the web and by the Great Intelligence's robot Yeti.

The time travellers learn that this crisis was precipitated when Professor Travers, whom they first met in the Himalayas some forty years earlier, accidentally caused one of the Yeti to be reactivated, opening the way for the Intelligence to make another invasion attempt.

The travellers work alongside army forces - led initially by Captain Knight and then by Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart - as they battle against the alien menace, hampered by the fact that one of their number has fallen under the Intelligence's influence and is a traitor in their midst.

The Intelligence's ultimate aim is to drain the Doctor's mind. The Doctor manages to sabotage the device with which it intends to achieve this, so that he can drain the Intelligence's mind instead, but he is 'rescued' by his friends before he can bring his plan to fruition.

The Intelligence is repelled into space, and the Doctor and his friends leave the army to clear up the mess.

X ~ X-Ray - Device used in hospitals. In the 1996 TV movie, Enemy Within, the 7th Doctor was X-Rayed but because they were unaware of the Doctor's alien physiology, they took the X-Rays to be double exposures. It was after the Doctor's "death" on the operating table that Dr. Grace Holloway took a look at the X-Rays and realised that he really did have two hearts.

Y ~ Yeti - The Yeti although resembling the cryptozoological creatures also called the Yeti, are in actuality alien robots. Their external appearance, that of a huge hairy biped, disguises a small spherical mechanism that provides its motive power. The Yeti serve the Great Intelligence, a disembodied entity from another planet, which tried to form a physical body in order to conquer the Earth. The Yeti are initially a ruse to scare off curiosity seekers, and later form an army serving the Great Intelligence.

The Great Intelligence and its Yeti minions were thwarted twice by the Doctor's second incarnation, played by Patrick Troughton, in the serials 'The Abominable Snowmen' and 'The Web of Fear'. A Yeti was also one of the creatures in the Death Zone featured in 'The Five Doctors'.

Resembling giant ants, they were used by the Menoptera as cattle until the Animus arrived and took control of them, forcing them to fight their former masters. They reverted to their original nature after the Doctor, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright and Vicki defeated the Animus.

    Doctor: " *Brainfart* ".

Ditzy, but fiercely independent, Jo's confidence and bravery grew with experience. As well as facing a series of adventures on Earth, during the Doctor's exile, she also visited a number of alien planets, including Skaro and Peladon.

After disappointing a series of would-be suitors, Jo finally fell in love with Eco-warrior Professor Clifford Jones, and left the Doctor to explore the Amazon with her new fiancé.

I ~ Ian Chesterton - (Played by William Russell).

Ian Chesterton Travelled with the Doctor between 'An Unearthly Child' and 'The Chase'.

A teacher at Coal Hill School, Ian encountered the Doctor when he visited the home of one of his pupils, Susan Foreman, with his colleague, Barbara Wright. Fearing that the teachers would reveal his secret, Susan's "Grandfather" the Doctor kidnapped them, beginning a series of exciting adventures.

Ian's speciality was science, but his skills as a diplomat were also useful. He was often called upon to play peacemaker, and many times saved the lives of his fellow travellers. His often stormy relationship with the cantankerous Time Lord ended when he and Barbara finally returned to Earth in an abandoned Dalek time capsule.
