What iF Picks: ONE OF THE TOP 5 DVDs TO OWN FOR SEPT. 18, 2007
4) STARGATE ATLANTIS – SEASON THREE
Another season of the lost city of Atlantis that happens to be in a galaxy far, far away and built millions of years ago. Darker and funnier than its predecessor STARGATE SG-1, STARGATE ATLANTIS in the third season does a great job of fleshing out some of its characters – plus this show has always upped the eye candy, which is always a good thing. In terms of the third season, it really blows the lid off the other two seasons of the show delivering some unique stories from its predecessor and creating a show that is equally the same but equally different than what got it started – and that’s a good thing. But where MGM Home Video really shines is in packing this television DVD set with special features that every DVD set should have. There are a whopping 19 alternate audio track commentaries for the 20 episodes, 10 featurettes on the cast, the special effects and so much more that you’ll know everything you need to about the series by the
end of the set.
