The Top Reasons to Watch Seasons 9 & 10

I've got to say that seasons 9 and 10 have been kind of a letdown for me. I loved the idea of fighting against an ascended enemy, but they just didn't do all they could with it. So, I had to find other reason to watch the show.

My top reason: Hearing Beau Bridges/Landry say "The Ori."

Geez, last I check this was a thread about reasons why you do watch, not another thread to whine.

I think Season 8 would have been a great finale, but 9 and 10 have brought enough good that I can get past that. Reasons why I watch:

-To see us use the technology and ideas we have acquired over the last few years

-Our space Armada

- Prototype

-it's still SG-1! Still has some of the same feel.

-Odyssey

-mute teal'c ( more then normal)

-horrible writing

-lack of team chemistry

-carter not leading sg1

-no jack ....not even in a mention in unending

-did there forget about the tall circle thing that takes you to other planets

-no Asgard

-9/10 never should have happen.

New fresh Enemy the Ori

Vala a very complex character who is a wild card and unconvential never boring and usually very funny

Daniel and Vala bantering is very amusing

Cool use of Athurian legend

I wasn't happy with a lot of season 9 & 10 But continue to watch for those moments with the original team members.

Ba'al used to be a really great, sinister, evil character. 9/10 turned him in to a joke.

The problem with the Ori story is that it's a long term story Arc (or looked like it was) but the simple fact is that the show didn't have that kind of life left in it. Instead of introducing the Ori, I'd have preferred season 9 to be the last, but focus more on "winning the peace"

Don't get me wrong, I've always loved SG1 and watched it since the beginning, but lately I've despaired at the direction of the show. And there's the old "every other country is evil, corrupt and incompetent and only the US is qualified to get anything done" attitude, that wasn't too bad at first (I've always accepted that as an American show, it'll take a US centric view) but the IOA episodes seem to cross in to the territory of latent racism.

Back to the point, personally, I'd say that seasons 9 and 10 did to Stargate what Russel T. Davies did to Dr Who

For beign an thread about reasons to watch season 9 & 10, there sure a lot fo reasons not to posted. I wrote 11 reasons becuase once I got going I couldn't write just 10 reasons

1.) Cameron Mitchell / Ben Browder

2.) The new term. I love them, I love Cameron, Sam, Daniel, Teal'c and Vala. I do love Jack but I love the new term. I love how they worked together in the Quest part one (for example). They have great chemistry together

3.) Vala Mal Doran (Claudia Black)

4.) Vala/Daniel banter (while they were paired a little to heavy for the first half of season 10, it balanced it's self out in the second half)

5.) Richard Woolsey (Robert Picardo) I love the actor and I enjoy the cahracter, from "bad guy", well actully 'guy you not supose to like' who turned into 'guy you feel bad for for and like' which I did.

7.) Morena Baccarin (Adria) - what I love seeing the firefly actors again in other shows, especially if those shows are stargate related

8.) while it was very flawed, Ripple Effact. We saw old dead characters like Janet. We got a goodbye to these characters we didn't have with their sudden deaths. I love episodes with AU. I like seeing more hten one Sam walking around. Also watching two Camerons joking around.

9.) The last scene in Talion between Teal'c and Bra'tac

Bra'Tac telling Teal'c he's like the son he never had. After ten years of watching their relationship and waiting for that, I'm so happy with it

10.) Ba al clones - I love ba al and al his clones

11.) 200 SG1 star treking, Daniel/Teal'c/Cameron dressed up as the lion/tin man/scarecrow along with some very other funny scenes.

My main reason for watching Seasons 9 and 10 of SG-1 is that, IMO, they are two of the show's finest seasons. Well written stories and characters.

Nope, can't think of anything else. I guess I carried on watching until the end because I thought I'd get better and just to watch until the end. Thank god it's not the end though...here's hoping the movies are better.

Maybe that is the reason for the name? (Seriously, it did seem like a quick and dirty way to end the show. Lets hope the movies and the universe spinoff do better (Unfortunately I'm rather pessimistic about that too ))
