Star Trek Fan Models Home After 'Voyager' Bridge

For those of you who are in financial distress, here is some inspiration for you: a Star Trek Fan models his home to make it look like the Voyager bridge set, then sells it on ebay for a million dollars! But you don't have to take my word for it. Check out the following article:

If a "Trekkies 3" documentary is ever made, they have to include this guy in it!

A Star Trek fan turned his U.K. home into a replica of a part of the starship Voyager, and has sold it for £425,000 (more than $840,000) -- five times its market value.

Tony Alleyne spent two years and more than $59,000 turning his studio apartment into a detailed copy of Capt. Janeway's bridge.

He put his home up for sale on eBay a month ago with a guide price of £50,000 to £130,000 ($99,000 to $257,400). It has sold for five times that amount after five Star Trek fans began a bidding war. In the end, a millionaire businessman won the auction.

Alleyne started work on the apartment two years ago after his marriage broke up. The apartment has molded wall panels, blue lighting and a reproduction of a transporter room.

In February Alleyne filed for bankruptcy after running up debts of more than $330,000. He spent more than $59,000 converting the apartment as well as almost $200,000 on marketing for his business, 24th Century Interior Designs.

Despite going bankrupt, he renovated the apartment using government income support payments.

Alleyne already was featured in Roger Nygard's "Trekkies 2" after SyFy Portal's very own Michael Hinman shared Alleyne's story with the director.

What amazes me is what some people will do to get a piece of iconic history.
Have you ever remembered what life was like before you were born? That's how it will be like after you're dead.

Or that people who like voyager are considered Trek fans.

That's because the Enterprise D bridge looked too much like a hotel with all those extra seats on the bridge! Even the Enterprise E bridge was a vast improvement. The original Enterprise bridge looked too colorful, making it look more like a childrens playground and while the show Voyager sucks, it's bridge is definitely the best of all. The Voyager bridge looked more militaristic and "down to business" kind of design. I especially like the fact that there are only two chairs on the command center: captain's chair, commander's chair, and no counselor's chair!

Im pretty sure it cant cost that much money to make a house look like classic startrek sets. For gods sake its just painted wood. L2SAW&HAMMER. The only place it could get pricey is the viewscreens and the wiring, but still, that dosent have to be elaborate. It think this guy got scammed or is a scammer.

If I were a millionaire, I'd totally buy that.
