Hi all,
I've seen a few neat pictures of figures with head swaps, but has anyone made any truly custom figures? I saw a gold armor Apophis on Ebay a couple of months ago but nothing since.
If you made any customs post them here![]()

Great thread, I was hoping for something like this. I'm sorry I missed seeing a pic of that Apophis. I wasn't feeling quite ambitious enough to tackle the idea but if it turned out well it might have swayed me.
I was also thinking (thinking, mind you) that a dessert camo repaint, of Teal'c let's say, wouldn't be terribly complicated.
Judging by the prototype, it looks to be the same body of green Teal'c and since there are no immediate plans to produce the figure.... On the other hand, it has been a while since I've done any figure customization and my skills weren't all that hot anyway.
Great Idea for a thread!
I have a few that I'm planing on doing.
But I'll wait 'till I have pics to post...
Great idea for a thread
Unfortunately, Im terrible at things like this and so wont be customising any of mine but would love to see what other people can do![]()
Hi,
Long time lurker, first time poster- so I hope this works.![]()
Here are some of my custom SG-1 figures.

Nothing fancy, just some head/body part swaps and a fresh coat of paint here and there.
^ Very nice!
Love the blue BDUs you gave O'neill and Teal'c.
What kind of paint did you use?
Thanks for the posts.
I really like the black-op Samantha Carter figure you made.
The blue Jack and Teal'c also look good.
Is there a specific kind of paint that works well for figures?
Thanks![]()
Here's my T-shirt SG-1 crew. It is for sale so pm me if anyone is interested in the set of figures.

Black silicone gives a realistic Anubis!
The original serpent guard looks like Apophis, just add some eye make up & gold paint. Also black SG-1 uniforms, painted

Hello, I read all of your posts on custom figures,
That's greatest job you done!
Doctor McKay is my favorite.
hey, anyone has some parts of Stargate Figures for sale? No matter if you have some heads or bodies ore maybe weapons.
Too bad, that no one has posted some customs for quite a while
Where does the time go? Its been a while since I’ve been here. Real life always seems to get in the way of fun.
This is my Ultimate Jack O’Neill, heavily inspired by JediKnutt’s earlier version (starting on page 20).
Jack here got a full repaint (minus the head and hands) though not because he really needed it. I just wanted to experiment (oddly enough the muddy boots are my favorite part of the figure). The holster was snitched from an Atlantis figure as well as the sidearm. The MP-5 is from a Hitman figure. The other bits and pieces (knife, etc) are from a Plan B toys accessory pack. The glasses are Daniel’s and the cap is reversible.
More pics in the spoiler tags.
PS I just spotted a paint snafu.
Spoiler:
Rope climbing's the reason I got bronze instead of silver in the ParticipACTION programme.
I think another Squeeeeeeee! is in order for that! I love those boots! And the hat...
And the knife! Now you can play the scene where he tossed it into Heru'urs hand! *Astra is envious* Oh, wait, we need a Heru'ur first... never mind!
Hi Astra! Its so good talking to you again. Thanks for leaving the nice comments, glad you got a kick out of it.
I was thinking about that same scene when I was trying to figure out where to locate the knife. I might just have to do something about that. We'll see if it works out...

I love the detail on his boots-- it's just awesome.![]()
Wow. Not sure I ever inspired anything before. Your version looks great! I have to try the reversible hat now on mine. How hard is it to do? Where did you get the Plan B accessory set? Thanks for posting.
Many thanks! I got a ton of ideas from your Ultimate line of figures. So if you have any other customs in the works that I can steal ideas from... ahem, be inspired by, I look forward to it.No really, your customs rock.
Its a matter of putting the head in hot water, letting it sit, and trying to pry the sucker off without burning your fingers. How difficult it will be will probably depend on how much glue/paint they used on that particular figure. One I tried wouldn't budge while another came off fairly well.
Plan B had a ton of accessories which was great. The only problems were that the majority of their figures were WWII era, were slightly smaller scale, and they don't make 'em anymore anyway. *edit* I take it back. It looks like Plan B does still exist.
You can still get the accessory pack though. I got mine from Big Bad Toy Store on one of their sales. Useful bits if you don't mind doing some modification.
I'm almost tempted to figure out a WWII era, alternate universe, Captain America-ish version of Jack with whats left over.
