The lack of personal life is somewhat irksome, but at the same time, its vagueness allows for some great humor (as seen above).

Heheheh, this talk about her smile reminds me of Dragon*Con, when Robin Dunne was being his regular goofy self and she levels a look at his parents (who were in the audience) and goes "was he like this as a child?!"

And you know what's awesome? She reuses jewelry. Those earrings are a fairly regular occurrence, if I'm not mistaken...

(and no, I'm not a stalker. I just remember mentioning to myself that I like those earrings. )

I was thinking the same thing.
She wore them at Arma last year & I made a comment that I'm glad I didn't wear mine which are almost identical...mine are a full circle rather than a wedge but with the same dangleys on it.

See, I always like to think that I like danglies, but then I always end up getting frustrated with them. Same with whenever I try to style my hair. I guess I'm really just a tomboy at heart.

And now that you mention it, I think she wore those danglies to Dragon*Con too...

Was listening to the commentary for Red Sky (SG-1, Season 5) and Amanda said fans ask her physics questions all the time. At a convention someone asked her what a "naked singularity" was and she said she wanted to reply, "Sam Carter on a Saturday night."

Thought that was hilarious.

And I can picture her saying it one of two ways: (1) complete deadpan; (2) with that grin of hers that's both goofy and sheepish that she even had the thought in the first place... but just can't keep from sharing it.

Had to go back and listen to the commentary. LOVE this comment! When just reading the quote here I agreed that Amanda could have said it either way, but upon listening to it, I think it was the deadpan delivery.

My favorite part of that episode is hearing AT moan on the commentary about how she has to describe the situation using the baskets of fruit...and putting the wrong colored fruit in the wrong basket!

poor amanda. working till 3am and then the trip to the airport-going thru customs,etc. then the flight and getting to a hotel. it's a good thing she's the kind of person that doesn't require 8 hours of sleep. still, i imagine she will be slap happy by the time the con is over.
