Oh man, that was years ago but it was a shippy chat tho....that I remember...lots of comparisons between Jack (O'Niell) & Jack/John (Ripper/Druitt)...lots of laughing!!
Sorry, I really can't recall the entire skit so it would be too difficult to describe right now.

A couple of Tweets from Amanda about what she and Olivia did Saturday evening.
Went to @bryanadams concert tonight with Olivia and her little buddy from school. Met Bryan. Saw my friend @mouthnoize and her family. Fun!!
The kids made it through half the concert. And yes they were wearing ear protection! So cute! Great show.

I think part of that slug was pent up from what happened to Jack. She's already had to work with Ba'al before, but now that they're so totally married, Jack's told her more about what happened in Ba'al's fortress during "Abyss". And even if he hasn't, there's only so many nightmares she'll help him through before she starts putting two and two together.
So while he was infuriating as he always is, I think the main thing that changed in Sam was her awareness of what he did to Jack.
Cue the slug-fest.![]()
you could also say that the frustration of dealing with cam and vala.......ba'al was just that straw that broke the camel's back. She could only take so much until she just had it.
Sometimes it is easier to deal with things when you have that strong support, but so much had changed for her recently - and she really needed to hit something (not saying her new team wasn't working, because I love them, but change is hard and Ba'al was really asking for it). That scene is definitely one of my favorites!
Under certain circumstances (like these, with Ba'al asking for it, the mission, the enemy, the frustrations and her new team which she isn't leading anymore) I too think it's somewhat in character for her. However, while I'll admit she's come a long way, I could also totally see season one Sam doing something like this. Back when she still had that chip on her shoulder and after her soapbox speech in the pilot! If Ba'al had said something back then I think she would have decked him too.
ETA:
And Jack would have probably cheered her on!
"You go girl!"
Down the Rabbit Hole (M-rated):
A malfunctioning quantum mirror causes an explosion and catches Major Samantha Carter unaware. When she comes to she discovers she has not only ended up on the wrong side of the mirror, but also the law! Forced to live as her counterpart, she tries to find a way home. Can she trust her CO's alternate or does he have a plan of his own?

Sometimes I think that the pilot is a little out of character. She certainly has a chip on her shoulder and feels the need to verbally defend herself, but that line has always seemed SO not her. I certainly think she had it in her to deck somebody if she felt the need, though I think O'Neill would have gotten to it first.
AT has said herself that it was only after the pilot that she felt she could address the feminist stuff (and other things) with TPTB for her character because it was only afterwards that she was assured of a job. So it probably is a bit OOC considering she insisted on changes, while the writers probably had more feminist stuff planned for her character. Gah, can you imagine what would have happened to the Sam Carter character if someone else had gotten the part (which almost happened)?![]()
