Yep but I thought she would have had it by now - she said she was supposed to be getting it early 2012...I wonder what colour she went with this time.

i think, initially, she'd be suspicious of Kate. Cause she'd read her as a street smart con person, but would then warm to her.
Biggie would be spooky at first, but she got used to Teal'c so no issue after a while
Henry, yeah, like JOnas, little brother although the first time he happed he'd scare the crap outta her
will would be a verbal sparring partner and yeah, just like Cameron
Tesla.....she'd be part amused, part intrigued and then write him off because of his flirting

Magnus, she'd be skeptical that she's so old, wonder if the woman was pulling a con or something, would grudgingly admit that maybe she was telling the truth, even as she always remained a bit skeptical because humans just don't live that long.

And while she'd defer to her for a bit, after a while she'd call her on stuff and stand up to her.

I'm always really hesitant to bring Carter into the Sanctuary 'verse. Probably because I've read too many fics where it always turns out that Carter is some long lost love child of Magnus' and they only find it out when Sam comes back into the picture for so many years.

But if I was really forced to consider it, here's what I think would happen:

-She'd be drawn to Kate. Instinctively, especially if it's a later-series Carter who's comfortable around Vala and her not so law-abiding ways. Kate is street smart, and confident and has that underlying need for thrill in her life that Carter has. They'd probably hit it off.

-Henry would probably see her the first time in a distracted sort of way and call her "Doc", only belatedly realizing she only looks slightly like Magnus. But he wouldn't go all gooey eyed until she starts going off in techno-babble when he'll respond with a wide-eyed blink blink "You're so totally hot..." But I do think that they'd explain his HAPness to her before he actually wolfed out, so she'd be curious enough for her to raise her eyebrow with a charming grin and go "Can I see?"

-Biggie and Sam would be like two peas in a pod. She might be a little weirded out at first, because while he's like Teal'c in a hulking but silent sort of way, he's decidedly less human-looking from a topical point of view. But when she starts to see the humanity underneath, her natural kindness and good-heartedness would come into play, and Biggie would respond in kind. But he'd always take his cue from Magnus. His allegiance is with her.

-Tesla would probably dismiss her as some kind of groupie at first, though he would bask in the awe and disbelief of her realizing that he's the Nikola Tesla. But with words like "little girl" and "blondie" thrown around, she'd likely come to consider him a McKay-with-fangs. But when she spouted off one of her astounding ideas, he'd give a smarmy little grin and say "Oh, I like this one..." as he looks her up and down, as if seeing her for the first time.

-And then with Magnus, well, Magnus would probably consider her to be far too reckless. Brilliant yes, but far to used to being forced to make snap decisions in the field of battle that naturally precludes thinking about all the ways that a plan could go wrong. In the slightly (very slightly) slower pace of the Sanctuary, Magnus would have time to consider all the potentially horrific outcomes and refuse to attempt the plan-- until it's down to the wire and nothing else has worked. So they try Sam's plan, and it inevitably works out, and then there's a sort of muted respect that Magnus holds for Sam. She still doesn't like the chaos that seems to always precede a Sam-plan, but she recognizes that Sam is indeed brilliant.

Also, she probably will always regard Sam with that regard she has for everyone who isn't a member of the Five--Magnus is the the indulgent adult, and everyone around her is simply unwitting children. But she adores each of them.

-Druitt would freak Sam the hell out. He's all sorts of twisted wrapped up in the guise of the most notorious serial killer in history. She'll never trust him, and her appearance (blonde, beautiful) would likely arouse certain proclivities of his nature that are better kept hidden. Namely, turning working girls into canoes.

-Oddly enough, I think that Sam would be most comfortable with James Watson. He's used to females in a male-heavy environment, thanks to his work with Magnus, and he's keen-minded, probably the most on her level out of all the other Five. Tesla is brilliant, yes, but James is more even-keeled and less leery than him, which Sam would appreciate. I could even see James and Sam having a bit of a dalliance (so long as it's a pre-Season 8 Sam).

-In the off-chance that Sam got to meet Ashley, I think Sam would liken her to Cassie. Until Ashley opened her mouth and wholly dashes the "sweet little girl" image to pieces. Sam's not used to a daughter figure who's so acerbic and abrasive, where Cassie is infinitely sweeter by comparison. And Ashley would likely take one look at Sam and peg her as a stick in the mud. But Sam would earn some respect in Ashley's eyes with her eagle-eyed aim with a firearm and knowledge/appreciation of motorcycles. They'd probably end up with a kinda-friendship and mutual respect.

    *shrug* That's just me though....

so far, others aren't seeing helen and sam as best buds either. respect, for sure, but an instant friendship... i think they're both too alpha female, in that they're used to calling the shots too much.

i *do* think they'd become friends, but i think sam would grow tired of helen's reluctance of revealing things like wil does. i think that might be a wall between becoming deep friends.

    what do you guys think?

Magnus is more or less a constant throughout Sanctuary but Sam has really grown throughout SG-1, her year on Atlantis and hopefully her command of Hammond. So for me it's impossible to really give a definitive answer to your question unless I know which Sam we're dealing with.

I think that as Sam grows older and more wise, she'd more easily relate to Magnus. A fresh off the Pentagon Sam would grate on Magnus, and vice versa, but a Colonel Sam or General Sam would be mellow enough to handle Helen.

Helen's so far-sighted, it takes a specific personality to really mesh with her on a personal level. Young Sam wouldn't gel... an older Sam would. Possibly.

I think Sam would grow tired of Helen's "uptightness" and the holding back...the lack of sharing not of only what is pertinant to the case at hand but also to anything personal because Helen is just like that. She doesn't open up. So yeah, I think they'd be friends but Sam is a lot more relaxed & giving than Helen and Helen is almost too guarded to the point she comes off looking suspicious...of course this is just my humble opinion.
I reckon Sam would get on well with Henry and maybe even Will...I can't see her getting on fabulously with Niloka - it'd be like another McKay.

Wow. Is it bad that I didn't even mention Will? Oy.

Well.... hm. Will would probably be like one of those alien crushes... He'll like her, but she wouldn't give him the time of day. In fact, once she knows he's a shrink, she'll barely come within ten feet of him. Or she might play a few mind games with him, just to mess with his head.

She'll be an enigma to him... this really hot, smart enigma who kiiiiiinda looks like his boss.

I can see Sam not having much patience for Helen's evasiveness and 'need to know' focus. Yes, Sam is used to some of that with the military, but I think she'd also be very, very impatient with getting caught flat footed while Helen has a smug 'i know better' moment.

helen's attitude depends on her people having absolute and blind trust and faith...and Sam doesn't know her well enough for that. Sam would possibly see her as a puppet master and it'd annoy her. Probably to the point of confrontation.

I also think that Sam would be intimidated by Helen. Yes, Sam is used to being around superiors and is familiar with the idea of a chain of command, but Helen carries authority around her like a cloak. It's woven into the very fibers of her character, and the effect seems nearly tangible. Sam's not used to that.

Plus, there's the added fact that Helen is very much aware of herself as a woman. She's sensual and magnetic and knows that she's both. Sam is beautiful and equally attractive in a magnetic sense, but she doesn't fully realize or utilize it. She's always surprised when someone admits they like her, whereas Helen would easily use it as a tool or weapon.

And yes, Helen is very much a manipulator, which would definitely set Sam on edge. But I think it's something she could adapt to, given she's provided sufficient motive to do so.

Weren't you there when this question was asked at one of the Gabit events? Can't remember which one, but it was something like, "What would Sam and Helen say to each other if they were stuck in an elevator together" kind of question. Was hilarious seeing her and Thomasina play acting it out, too!

i think we, the fans/viewers, were supposed to side with will a bit in his dealings with helen (with her holding back, not giving him all the info, etc), but i think the way he was directed and acted made us side with helen literally every single time.

i like robin dunne a lot, but the wil character could drag the series down sometimes. just my opinion.

What about a small hanging ornament. Someone could make something that says this:
    The AT Award.
Between this date and this date this amount was donated to S4K.

It would be like an award but with the real award being the amount mentioned on it that got donated.

I just thought it was a suggestion that was worth mentioning.

Was the the way AT had her hair in the SGU episode Incursion, Part 1 a mix of brown and blond or just some blond streaks? I'm thinking blond streaks but I don't remember.

I happened to be looking up the movie of the week, Taken Back, that AT did and found some information on a website for another person in the movie, Moira Kelly, and it says the movie won't be out until August. Here's the link: http://www.moirakellyonline.com/?p=2056

Agreed - I kind of assumed it was a later season. Definately the early Sam would have been intimidated and much more league with Henry (fellow geeka nd all that) & Ashley (motorcycles!) than Magnus. She'd also probably not know what to do with Tesla.

Older sam though, especially S9-10 Sam, I can see respecting Magnus but still challenging her when the need arose ("with all due respect....") and fighting for her ideas. Oh, and also punching Tesla when he was un-cooperative.

Mine too. I liked him a lot when he was more like watson/CSI like at the beginning, figuring out stuff but he doesn't really do that much anymore. I do think that would have changed in the hypotheical season 5 though.
