Would they be delayed due to Easter? When were they released last week?

EDIT: OPG has it as 6.8 million with an additional 1 million for the BBC3 screening but that does not include the peeps who taped it and will watch it later.

I guess Easter took some ratings away, people doing other things.

I think the HP books fell victim to their own popularity, but I still thought the references in the ep were hilarious.

I like the HP books, if it get folks (kids and adults) actually sitting down and physically reading a book - then I'm all for it.

Such a fun episode. Loved every quote and reference. The Dylan Thomas line - no you can't have that one - had me in whoops. Very enjoyable throughout.

Well boy oh boy, don't I just feel like the complete idiot right now? I just finished rewatching Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire. You'll never guess who's in it.

No wonder there were HP references in this ep!

It was the second thing that I saw him in.

LoL @ Shadow. Actually I saw it before Tennant became the Doctor.... and then I got to rewatch it again a while after series 2 ended.
    That was an eek!

It also requires the assumption that the line of the Monarchy has travelled unbroken between the two Queens. Which it hasn't. The Stuarts could just about claim to be related (Mary Queen of Scots had a blood claim which she passed to her son James), but George I of Hanover was 52nd in line to the throne - and the only reason he got it at all was because he was the nearest available protestant; catholics having been disbarred from the throne by the terms of the Act of Settlement in 1701. It seems highly unlikely that he had any meaningful genetic links to the Tudors.

OK, I admit it. I don't actually know this off the top of my head - I've got www.royal.gov.uk open in a separate browser...

I enjoyed this episode - though I found some of it just a bit cliche'd - what with Elizabeth I shouting 'off with his head!!!!' like that. Right out of Alice in Wonderland, that was. Don't know what the Doctor has done to get her to come storming out of her palace and into a mucky theatre like that but it must have been pretty spectacular. More please!

Nice HP references - glad I sat through 'Goblet of Fire' on a plane last year now to see the relevance; though it wasn't strictly necessary as they stood quite nicely on their own given the 'witchcraft' vibe. Also liked the 'that's a good line - I might use it' stuff, in a naff, 'that's a bit silly' kind of way.

Fantastic that they were allowed to use the Globe for filming, too - it looked brilliant. All in all, I enjoyed this one - even with that silly Alice in Wonderland quote at the end from Queen Elizabeth.

Now we know why all that money was spent to rebuild the Globe theatre

I agree that anyone who writes anything that gets people reading is good. Far too many people, adults as well as children read for pleasure or just to know more stuff. It amazes me how many people say the last book they read was at school.

I read the first 3 HP books but just could not work up the enthusiasm to read the others. Many other fine books out there, besides, I think I will wait for the 7th book.

That's what I meant by "in joke".

And I haven't even seen the movie, but yeah even I knew that!

Yeah, I saw "Goblet of Fire" at the cinema, and when a certain person came on screen - "Oh look, David Tennant. Ooh, nice leather trenchcoat!"

Bear in mind though that pretty much any British actor of note has by now been involved to some extent in a Harry Potter film! These things are like a who's who of RADA alumni!
