    The Shape

Ok guys im sorry if there is a thread about this, but im currently over sea and the internet slow so i dont want to waste anytime.

But hasent anyone realise that the shapes in the Galactica Unvierse is like a Octagon shape? The Books the Photo frames and the paper?

If anyone notices can anyone tell me why? Because it is bugging me.

um yeha in one of the video blog things on scifi last season one of the guys was saying about it when they were finishing the set or something.
it was a quirk from the mini that they decided to carry over if memory serves.

If I remember correctly it was related to a joke that was stated during the filming of the mini series. Something about "Cutting Corners"

"We need to find Earth, because if we don't then no one will remember a man named William Adama, or a Battlestar named Galactica."

Hehe, I love the clipped paper- and especially the clipped CD-ROM that we saw in S2. Gotta wonder how that works.....

We don't know exactly how the BSG systems read discs etc...but as far as
CDs in our world...you can buy and use "odd" shaped CDs.
You just put them in the trays and they spin around to be read just like
              the regular rounded ones.
The odd shaped ones are gimmicky and are often used for promotional
types of material....just something to be different and stand out for
              marketing purposes etc.

Now that is very cool- I never knew that. Thanks!

Though I could have sworn that they put the disc in an octogonal player in the BSG episode, but maybe not.....can't even remember which episode it was.
