    Default Ratings for BSG/SGA/SG-1

So you are probably reading that BSG is falling in ratings. Kinda sucks. Since I love BSG. However if you want to know something interesting, read this...

Which show out of the three is averaging the highest ratings? Well the winner goes to....

Stargate Atlantis holding at a 1.58 season average so far. BSG is almost half way through this season like the gates, here are the comparisons...

    BSG 1.51 Average
    SG-1 1.54 Average
    SGA 1.58 Average

Food for thought huh? They need to give one more season to SG-1 and put all three shows together! Don't you agree?

Well we already know Scifi is the definition of stupidity, but just because BSG is falling hard won't save SG1. Everyone can already see that Scifi just keeps making mistake, after mistake, after mistake, and they turn around and bury their heads in the sand because they got what they wanted, the longest running consecutive Scifi show on TV.

In the end, all three will be cancelled and hopefully then, someone will shoot Stern and Hunt for all their crap.

Well, by screwing SG-1 the way they did (cancelling on 200th) they PO many BSG fans too who won't go out of thier way to watch it anymore.

When they had on the "Fab 3" (I like it) they had given me, a housewfie and mother a reason to stay home fri night.

Well, I'm still home fri night but now I found better programing. "Fighting Fridays" on the History channel.

Ratings arn't what got SG-1 cancelled. It was simply a poor executive decision likely made mostly so Sci-Fi can put more money into new original shows. 'Cut the old expensive one, it's had a good run' kind of logic.

I kind of doubt that there were that many BSG fans that stopped watching a show they like just because they are pissed with SciFi. I do not even like BSG, and I still watch it.

Sorry, I don't think SG1 will be back no matter what happens to BSG.

I'm just one, but I stopped. In fact, I started watching SG1 during a BSG hiatus, and enjoyed SG1 quite a bit more. Now I don't watch any sci-fi, not even BSG. Just waiting for April.....

I agree with this statement. Ratings in my opinion were not the determing factor for SG-1's cancellation.

At any rate, you can't make the comparisment that way - you need to compare the ratings ofb the same amount of episodes... that is the first 6 of SG1 adn sGA as well, or wait til the ratigns for the last 4 BSG ratings are published.

And no, I also join the people who think the decision to axe SG1 was not ratigns driven, BSG's downfall can't help SG1, only a chace it could help SGA.

I really can't SCI FI channel last too much long. They have always messed up establish show. They pimp their ( and NBCs) newest show and low buget movies to the max. They even show wrestling. They are getting away from what made them big and they are too stupid to admit that they made a mistake. It was a BIG mistake to break up the SG1/SGA/BSG line up. By moving BSG to sunday will probbly not help matters. It The only reason I have been watching BSG is because it is on after Dr Who. In a way, it kind of funny how they pimp BSG and they rating havn't been too great. Also I think the six month break in the middle of the season is not too good of an idea. LOST is doing the same thing and the fans are getting restless. Lucky for us, Stargate series fans will stick with it.

I dunno... I stopped watching the Sci Fi Channel because they cancelled Stargate SG-1. They ain't getting my viewership... as far as I'm concerned SG-1 had years more of storyline.

I felt that it was time to post this because BSG hit an all time low, I am not happy as a BSG fan. I do see it as an opportunity for Stargate SG-1 fans to make another complaint. I want things to go back the way they were. SG-1,SGA, and BSG on Friday nights. Even if i am not happy with SG-1's direction another season will give it time to improve. Anyway those figures were taken from here, on the ratings news page.

Yes, I know. My poinmt was hat at the 6th episode, SG1's average was also 1.51. In order to compare the ratigns you need to compare the same number of episodes, or the comparisment is meaningless. For example, SGA has the higher average, something you woudln;t be able to tell if I told you that the hoghest rated episode between all three shows was SG1's (200's 1.9).

The thing is that low or high ratings, I think SG1 would haev been cancelled regardless. Changing the line up back to SciFi fridays could possibly save BSG and/or SGA, but I doubt they'd change their mind about SG1....

Not matter how low everyone thinks those shows ratings are, the shows are a hell of a lot better than any Sci Fi made movie. Those usually suck bad!!

What about a *new(ish)* Sci Fi Friday?

    Dr. Who at 7
    SGA at 8
    BSG at 9

then possibly followed by an SG1/Eureka/Dead like Me rerun (since the former and latter are both cancelled and that Eureka airs at a different time of the year)

I love Eureka, would be a good pair with SGA, IMO.

Well in about a year SciFi will have about 200 eps to re-air. So we will always have SG-1 on Scifi.

Probley for a short time after all Andromeda, Farscape...... are barley seen anymore. So Sg-1 might last long as a rerun show.

As for Eureka I agree, par it up with SGA, and I will watch SGA.
