Jackson: Hathor was the Egyptian goddess of fertility, inebriety, and music.
O'Neill: Sex, drugs, and rock and roll?

Yeah...one of the reasons I love Sg-1 is it's realism...it could really be happening right now, you know?

It's a good Dramady. (Has a serious plot line, but knows how, and when to throw in humor)
Probably the most interesting show depicting Earths history (The eygiptian gods being aliens that enslaved us and stuff.)
And of course, it's got Daniel Jackson. (nuff said)

Not so happy that Daniel died now, are we Jonas?

Good directing with some interesting camera angles during the "slower" moments that keep your interest (most of the time...)
The music- also one of the best theme songs since Gilligan's Island.

And to the Sci Fi Channel...

Competent actors for their unique individual roles

....especially the main character, i.e., the Stargate itself!

well written stories for the most part. this is especially surprising going into 8th year.....

the characters, while being archetypes, are not stereotypes and have been given room to grow.

it's a drama, but not melodramatic - doens't take itself or it's material too seriously.

continuity - for the most part episodic scifi doesn't know the word exists - SG1 has done its best to keep true to the history it lays down for itself.
    Thanks!

Great chemistry among all of the actors.

Great casting for the supporting roles.

The show has a little bit of everything in it - drama, action, adventure, sci-fi, humor, romance - you name it probably has it.
