    sound effects for computer

anyone know of a good site with a large library of *.wav files from Stargate, Stargate SG-1, and Stargate Atlantis (i can live without the movie if necessary).

i'm trying to build my own desktop theme and could use some sound effects.....

especially that haunting violin goa'uld theme that has sadly gone away.
Colonel Jack O'Neill: So what's your impression of Alar?
Teal'c: That he is concealing something.
    Colonel Jack O'Neill: Like what?
Teal'c: I am unsure. He is concealing it.

    Sorry, can't help you there.

You could probably make your own though, if you have the DVDs, but that takes time. But hey, if it hasn't been done, and you take the time to do it, that means you'll be the one TO have done it.

have to have the DVDs first... speaking of which, in a related note, similar to how Windows Media can rip your CD onto your comp, is there a program that does that for a DVD?

You could try Jack the Ripper. But I don't know the legalities of ripping a DVD so...

Try Chevron 26, as they have lots of stuff you can download. If you dig around you may find the sounds you want.

If you go to the Adium website, they have a stargate sg-1 soundset, but you may need a mac to extract the sound files

dvddecrypter > VobEdit to covert to ac3 file > Headache to covert to wav > your fav wav editor ( I use Goldwave)

this is a collection of sound effects i have found from various sources, mostly from dhd simulators. Theyre very high quality. And theres no background music.
                    Total of 10 Music files.
