    When Martin was starring in "Looney Tunes: Back in Action", he asked that Daleks be included in the movie, without asking permission from Terry Nation's estate. If Steve Martin hadn't written a letter of apology to TN's estate, the Daleks would've been never been allowed to be brought back when Doctor Who was revived back in 2005.

    So yes, Steve Martin nearly destroyed the Doctor's most famous enemy, in a bad way.

    I have no idea where he got them from.

    All I know is, that if Steve Martin hadn't sent that letter, then we would NEVER have had Daleks in New Who.
