Default Suggestion for Solution to Character Thread Purpose Ambiguation/Confusion

Ok as many of you know, recently there's been a lot of discussion in the Torri/Weir threads as to what they should/should not contain and what is on topic (ie, WOWing, Appreciation, Discussion, Criticism, etc, etc). Well here's what I propose:

My initial thought was "lets just have a bunch of threads, that way there's no confusion." So for example, you'd have a WOW/Thunk thread, an Appreciation thread, a Discussion thread, or more or less as needed. But someone then pointed out to me if we do this with all the characters, we would have way too many threads. So perhaps what we could do is this: sub-divide the Character/Relationship forum. Just like we have Season subforums we could have specific character subforums. Then all the subsequent threads could be placed in those forums and there would be no congestion. Another benefit of this would be keeping threads from getting buried, as most of the main characters' subforums could fit on the first page.

    Your thoughts?

    the downside to this?

FOlks have complained about how fragmented the forumis now, with pro's and anti's etc. this will just fragment it further.

Rather than isolating anyone and everyone from ever having a conflict, the more long term solution is for every participant to grow a little tolerance and learn to accept folks that they might not totally agree with.

I agree people should be more tolerant of others, but it's not just about being tolerant, it's about organization. Besides, between the talks about GW merchandise (like the T-shirts), the possible chat rooms, the get-togethers at Cons, I think all of that unity far outweighs any little separation created by subdividing the forums and threads for their appropriate topics. In the BSG forum having a Season One forum and a Season Two forum doesnt separate the Season One fans from the Season Two fans, it just better organizes things.

since this has been discussed in NUMEROUS threads
and this particular instance has to do with the Weir/Torri threads a select thread has been set up for them to continue their discussions regarding their issues

and this thread will be closed
