Agreed. I also think NATO should restructure itself for planetary defense. The integrated military commands could be converted for a multinational space fleet.

They still had it. Like how the SGC has the Stargate now even though they didn't make it. Nor do they actually own it legally.

If Stargate were real i don't think many countries epecially, Russia, China and the EU, would like the US to have that much power in their possesion.

That is very true, for every nation and individual not just the United States.

But getting off of that. I think it would be great if the other nations of the world stepped up and began designing and constructing their own starships in fact why doesn't someone on this thread design one for the EU(what is that again?).

I'll be interning with the European Parliament in a few months, so I'll be sure to suggest they start working on an intersteller defense fleet.

Good and then(in real life) after they accomplish that tell them not to bother with other star systems and to just stay in this solar system. That way they will be able to get anywhere in the system within a month(I hope).

I'd prefer a UN ship, Then loads of countries could get involved, pay of the cash expences & have the best & brightest onboard, like Atlantis, but mobile!
