    How big is atlantis?

Ok. i have been wondering about allmost every time we have seen atlantis from the sky of how big it really is.. I know it must be BIG first thing they are all able to live in the "command tower" the de deadelus (i still can't spell that ships name lol) is able to Land on a really small platform (aleast if it lands where i think it lands i have not really been able to see it from the landing screens. i have just viewed on a picture of atlantis and found the place that look most like the place they land. and im sure it have docking facilitys for some Ancient battleships to. Anyway do anyone have an idea about how big it is? i mean from one end to another..i haven't really been able to find any information about it.

I know they mentioned searching the city would be like searching every room of every apartment and home in Manhatten. It's certainly a couple miles in diameter.

If the city really is the size of Manhattan (which had been confirmed by Mr. Mallozi (sp) here on GateWorld), then that means the city is about 12 miles from end to end.

Personally, I want to see the city as being that large.

1.6 KM to the mile. Manhattan is roughly 21 kilometres from end to end. That would make the city of Atlantis rather city-like

Yeah, but until we know for sure, it could just as easily be the Lost Township of the Ancients, or the Lost Village of the Ancients, or the Lost Hamlet of the Ancients...

Let's face it, until we get some comparison shots of the "city", it's impossible to tell just how big it really is, despite off-show sources.

                From VFX Supervisor:

1.5km high at the highest point
                3.0km diameter.

Hrmm, a wriath hive ship would then be nearly twice as long as atlantis is in diameter...

Makes sense why they didn't build it on land then.

                          But that is rather tall...

                          *looks up*

what is 3.0km in diameter. it can't be atlantis it self? i mean would that not make the city rather small and it dosn't make sense if the city is 21 km's from one end to the other
