David Hewlett's Get Down DVD Versions

I'm planning on purchasing the "Get Down" DVD, one of David Hewlett's films, and I see there are two versions. One, released in 2004 is of the studio Platinum Disc, and is dramatically less expensive than the one released in 2003, which has the studio listed as Velocity / Thinkfilm. Does anyone know if and/or how these two versions are different?
