Somebody should start a petition addressed to the Sci Fi channel...tell me where to sign.
Yeah, but it's too bad that internet petitions aren't really that effective.
We could start a paper one, like have someone sign up for their city if they have at least 10 friends that'll sign it. We could start a sign-up thread, and keep mailing it around until we have enough signatures. Or we could pick one person to be in charge of it, and have everyone send as many signatures as they can get to that person, and they'll forward it to the Sci-Fi channel or wherever. I would be willing to start it!

I was saying the same thing, then internet petitions got Sony to release the full version of Threads to everyone who already bought Season 8...for FREE. You never know, maybe they aren't so ineffective??Originally Posted by RockinHobbit

I suppose it doesn't matter if SciFi wants it or not, as long as FOX owns the rights. They're as bad as system lords.

Posted by someone I have no reason to distrust on the Starfury Conventions messageboard:
Very promising news...
According to a couple of well-connected Sci-fi film makers (producer and director) I spoke to over the weekend..... on Thursday UIP effectively offered Joss the choice for a couple of other films OR funds for a series! Films seem more likely according to the industry bods they reckon.
Please be true! Pleaspleasepleasepleasepleaseplease!![]()

I'll hold off on the celebration but this is still good news.
Well, you might, but i'm gonna go and do a little happy jig, even if we don't get one, I love that jig!Originally Posted by Crichton

Sources said that, given the strong sales of the TV series Firefly on DVD, Universal is planning a sequel film to Serenity that will be produced with and to broadcast premiere on the Sci Fi Channel, which is part of the NBC Universal family.
The project is said to be a lower budget undertaking streamlined for the small-screen.
IGN FilmForce checked with Joss Whedon's camp who denied the claim; Universal did not comment.
Time will tell if this rumor pans out.
well a trilogy was planned, but could it be possible that the sequel could end up on as a Scifi channel movie?
TV DVD sales help get the movie and i am hoping that the movie DVD sales will help in securing a sequel although a lower budget tv sequel seems to be the logical choice after the poor box office takes

I'm less curious about Wonder Woman because I never liked the original. More of Captain Tightpants would be better.![]()

I swallowed a bug!
Instead of starting another thread about a Serenity sequel why don't we support the existing one...

the fact that Joss actually denied it instead of saying no comment or maybe or something like he usually does when he cant officially confirm something, it makes me think that this is just a rumor at this point. joss has always been really close to the fans and very open about his desire for more serenity movies that i think if it was even being speculated about he would have said so, if at this point in time it was a possibility he wouldnt straight out deny it.
i hope this is true...so i just started watching firefly this week, but in that time span i have watched all the episodes and the movie twice. Gosh...its so addicting.
I have such mixed emotions though, cause wash is what makes firefly to me. And dont know if i could handle watching a sequel without him in it.![]()
