    Favourite Songs

Just sat here listeing to James Blunt - You're Beautiful with a tincy bit of dust in my eye and realised I haven't seen a thread for people's favourite songs. Am I mistaken?

Come talk and justify why you like a certain song, band, album, etc.

There used to be a few threads about this. A few about best song and I know I started one about which music you'd want at your funeral.

    I have several favorite songs.

    Metallica - Fade to Black
Bizet - Je Crois Entendre Encore. Not the David Gilmour version, it sucks.
Dead Prez - Propaganda. (Much by Dead Prez could be on this list)
Portishead - Roads, Live. Amazing live song.
Fronda - Rullar fram. Swedish hiphop, totally amazing to have in the background on a party, or on your mp3-player. If a non-swede could listen and say what he/she thinks about it that'd be great.

Those are the ones I could come up with in a few seconds.

        Ditto
But what a band, and what a song!
I agree, either that or Sanitarium, Master of Puppets, One or maybe even Seek and Destroy. Or Ride the Lightning. In fact, i've got a lot of favourite metallica, so I'll leave it at that....

        Other songs:
        Radiohead - Creep
G'n'R - It's So Easy (or Welcome to the Jungle)
        Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Van Halen - Hot for Teacher
Slayer - Hell Awaits and Angel of Death. and Seasons in the Abyss!
Maybe some Queens of the Stone Age from "Songs for the Deaf". That was some hardcore sh*t...!

Gotta add GnR - Ain't it fun. Frelling good song.

Freebird would be on the top of my list if a good artist would record the whole thing. Anthony S. Head started good in Buffy, should've finished Lynyrd's version sucks hard.

I have too many favorite songs to count! I'm a total music geek, I like everything from Frank Sinatra to Green Day to Eminem to Beethoven to Kenny G to Def Leopard to the Village People. I can't even pick one favorite type of music let alone a favorite artist or song

Need a little time by Beautiful South - I did exactly what it said in the song and felt better for it

I Lurve Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones - I've got it as my ringtone, I get some funny looks when it goes off in the shops

Sooooo many, it's insane. Go 40gig iPods, but now I'm getting to listen to and like so many bands.

These are only a few, down to about C that I listen to heaps, there really are too many songs I'd listen to for ages to go thru much -

                        AC/DC - Thunderstruck
                        AC/DC - Highway to Hell
                        AC/DC - TNT
                        AC/DC - Hell's Bells
Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith
Bon Jovi - I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
                        Alice Cooper - Poison
                        Chevelle - Family System
                        Chevelle - Comfortable Liar

Enjoy happy listenin', folks - rock/alternative rock 4ever!

If I can ask this in the way I mean it (without being mean) Why justify? I like a lot of different types of music, but if I were to say my fave band everyone would look down their nose at me.

Generally speaking, I like rock music. Of any sort.

I'm a big Phil Collins / Genesis fan. Not really sure I have a good reason for it. One of my favorite songs would have to be "Driving the Last Spike" on Genesis' "We Can't Dance" album.
