It just means that no points will be added to you reputation total. The person that gave you the green (or gray in this case) doesn't yet have the ability to do that.

How many reputation points one person gives depends on several things: length of membership, their number of posts and how many rep points they have. New members can give reputation, but instead of green the block is gray (meaning they give 0 rep points), until they fulfill the 3 conditions I mentioned.

We don't care. there's a lot of people around here that have the same sigs or avatars.

Sigs are a personal expression. They do need to follow our rules about being respectful, the photo rules, etc.

Only times we've really police sigs is in cases such as people having an image with profanity in it, or if they had a pic of the actor's kids that breaks the rules, or if it's too big or too tall. Or when folks have wanted to use 'artful nudes' in their sigs that break the 'keep it PG' rule.

To use the example you cited, if two people have the same sig, presuming it follows all the other rules, we'd only get involved if one person was using another person's graphic without their permission (such as if someone took my noodle of doom sig and put it on their posts without asking me since I made that graphic and it's 'mine'.)

Again : modded or not on a case-by-case basis.

Generally speaking ,the actors' kids and families aren't in the public eye or showbiz,so care needs to be taken to be respectful if any pics are leaked ,or taken and published with or without the actor's consent.

If any particular sig image seems over the lines ,and/or you as in the general use of "you" feel an actor's kid's pics are being used in a disrespectful way ,let the mods know via the report feature.

why are groups moderated i.e. if you are say a Jack/Sam Shipper you want to join the group J/S Shippers but cant because it's moderated if you want to join that group why cant you?

When Darren decided to enable the Social Groups,he tried to give the creators/members some choices in how they were managed.

What is a Group?

A Group is a group of people usually with a particular interest or something else in common. It provides a way of communicating between members as well as sharing photos or other images.

You can get to the list through 'Group Memberships' section on your public profile (?).

The Groups list page displays all groups that have been created. You can list the groups by the number of members, messages or pictures, the group name, when the group was created or by the date of the most recent message posted. You can use the controls provided to search for a group.

How do I join a group?

To join a group, click the group title then click 'Join Group'. When you have joined a group, its name will be shown in your public profile. You must be a logged-in, registered member to join groups.

Can I create my own Group?

As a registered member, you can create your own Group (providing the administrator allows this). Go to the groups page and click 'Create A New Group'. Complete the title and description for your group then select the type. There are three types of groups:

Public - open to everyone. There is no restriction on who can join or who can post messages to it
Invite Only - require an invitation to be sent to join them. Invitations can only be sent by the group creator or forum moderators and administrators. Invitations are sent by clicking 'Pending & Invited Members' at the bottom of the page for that individual group
Moderated - open to everyone to join but messages need to be moderated before they will appear. They are moderated by the group creator and the site moderators and administrators
