The kiss on Teyla and the throat grab on Weir are both displays of aggression/dominance over women. As I said elsewhere, if the situation were flipped - Shep kissed Weir, and strangled Teyla, it would still be the same. It was an aggressive attack on a woman. There was no love/caring in either situation.
