There are Stargate fans who believe that the Aschen and their ulterior motive (facilitated by the use of a vaccine to covertly inflict sterility on a population) are reflective of contemporary real-life events.

Related to the current pandemic -- I can see the resemblance, sort of.
In that regard, I watched the season 9 episodes with the Ori plague at the height of our first lockdown. A global pandemic ravaging the planet... that was eerily familiar. Unfortunately we didn't have an Ancient at hand to help us out with a quick solution.

But that can be said of more films and episodes which deal with a devastating event to the population. Or something like a genocide or apartheid.
