i would name one zuses
my would be athena, as everyone knows; goddess of protection, warfare and wisdom sounds like a good name sake for the flagship of a fleet defending earth to me.
You are the fifth race, your role is clear, if there is any hope in preserving the future it lies with you and your people ~ 8years for those words

i think you need to resolve some issues with the ancient greeks, why dont you like thier names, the asgard have norse, the goauld have egyption/anything they choose, ancients have romen names, time for us to have a mythology of our own - and im glad that its greek cos greeks = great![]()

The Asgard are Norse, the Goa'uld are ancient Egyptian, we are not ancient Greeks. I love Greek mythology, almost as much as Egyptian, but they're used too often and everyone on this thread posted a suggestion of a Greek gods' name.Originally Posted by immhotep

Thanks! (I'm Greek) Anyway, I don't understand why the Ancients are associated with the Romans. Who first wrote about Atlantis? Plato, a Greek. So why would they be associated with the Romans? Especially since the Greeks were first, and the Romans came later, so it would be more likely that the Greeks would be influenced by the Ancients, rather than the Romans.Originally Posted by immhotep
As for ship names, I think you have to have an Enterprise. That name is a tradition (As Star Trek:Enterprise showed in the opening credits). Some other names would probably be a mixture of Greek/mythological names and names of current/past U.S. ships.

I cant believe no one has mentioned "Galactica" as a name.I think a cool name would be "Pride of Higara" or maybe the "USS Leatherneck".
So does that mean we're having a Pegasus then too?Originally Posted by USMCgrunt
I think I would name a ship The Pandora. Going though the Stargate made the evils of Earth seem to be insignificant. Plus it brought the evils of the universe right to our door step. But it did leave us with the hope that we can over come those evils and have a better future.
